ORANGE COUNTY TO HOST HALLOWEEN ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AGES
ORANGE COUNTY, NC (October 11, 2012)—The Orange County Main Library will host the following Halloween activities throughout October:
Thursday, October 25: Halloween Movie Double Feature
Families can arrive at 5:30 p.m. to watch a short Halloween cartoon classic followed by the feature show—a zany Halloween favorite about three 17th century witches who are accidentally conjured up in present-day Salem, where they brew a hilarious cauldron of mischief and mayhem. Bette Midler stars with Sarah Jessica Parker in a fun-filled tale of madness, mayhem and witchcraft. Rated-PG. The movie titles cannot be publicized, due to copyright, but please call the library at 919.245.2536 for more details.
Tuesday, October 30: Live Performance of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
The Main Library invites everyone to the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow," performed by Bright Star Theatre on Tuesday, October 30, at 3:30 p.m. In this version of the Washington Irving classic, bumbling schoolmaster Ichabod Crane is in love with the prettiest girl in town, Katrina Van Tassel. Katrina, however, is in love with Brom Bones, the town prankster. One stormy night, Ichabod finds himself being chased by the legendary headless horseman – or is it another one of Brom Bones' pranks?
This special performance is open to all ages, but especially recommended for 2nd – 6th graders.
Wednesday, October 31: Story Time and Trick-or-Treat
Halloween stories and trick-or-treating will be hosted at the Main Library on Wednesday, October 31.
Lap Sit Story Time for one to 2-year-olds, begins at 10:00 a.m.
Preschool Story Time for three to 5-year-olds, begins at 11:00 a.m.
Costumed ghosts and goblins of all ages are invited to trick-or-treat at the library, during regular business hours.
