NC NAACP President Rev. Dr. William J. Barber and the Forward Together Movement to Participate in the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington
DURHAM - Beginning late tonight and into the early hours of tomorrow morning, buses from around North Carolina will leave for D.C. Hundreds of North Carolina NAACP members and members of the Moral Monday and Forward Together Movement will attend the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington on Saturday, August 24th.
Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, II, as President of the North Carolina NAACP and leader of the Forward Together and Moral Monday Movement, has been invited to speak at the A. Philip Randolph Institute National Convention Pre-Rally tonight, August 23rd, and to lead a prayer at the 50th Anniversary March on Washington Rally on the 24th.
Following the rally, the NC NAACP and the Forward Together Movement will return to North Carolina to continue organizing for the 13 simultaneous Taking the Dream Home rallies across the state on August 28th, when we will heed Dr. King's call at the end of his "I Have a Dream" speech to go home and organize!
