Time change for Naacp Lobby day at #ncga

TIME CHANGE FOR  LOBBY & ADVOCACY DAY!!   This afternoon the NC NAACP office learned that the NC House of Representatives and Senate have delayed the time they will re-convene on Tuesday.  Due to their decision to return to the NC General Assembly at a later time on Tuesday, May 27, we have decided to adjust our time to be in place when they return.  WE WILL NOW GATHER AT 11:30 AM BROWN BAG LUNCH WILL BEGIN AT 12:00 NOON AND THE TRAINING WILL BEGIN AT 12:30 PM ###    Forward Together Moral Movement People's Lobby & Advocacy Day!    Join us at  the General Assembly Tuesday, May 27   Tuesday, May 27 11:30 am Halifax Mall  (behind the General Assembly) 16 West Jones St., Raleigh, NC 27601     At the Forward Together Moral Movement People's Lobby & Advocacy Day, we will visit our lawmakers to call upon them to repent for their immoral actions last summer, to repeal these disastrous laws that are hurting our state's most vulnerable, and to restore our faith in their capacity to govern for the good of the whole.   To make sure that this year's People's Lobby & Advocacy Day brings the full force of the people's will to bear on turning this General Assembly away from the dark path of extremism, we ask each and every one of you, if you are able, to join us on Tuesday and to get the word out to your communities.   We have come so far since last April 29 when the first 17 witnesses were arrested for standing up against extremism. Last summer, we were dealing with bad policies; now, we are fighting to stop these policies from hurting real people.   People's Lobby & Advocacy Day - Schedule 11:30 am - Registration 12:00 pm - Brown Bag Lunch 12:30 pm - Policy Briefing and Lobbying Instructions Scholars will walk us through the damage that these extremist policies have inflicted on everyday North Carolinians - and through the benefits to be gained if our General Assembly chooses to repent and repeal. We will also receive lobbying instructions and break into smaller groups. Feel free to bring a bag lunch to the briefing.  2:30 pm - Lobby & Advocacy Visits We will proceed from Halifax Mall to the General Assembly to visit our assigned lawmakers.
