The U.S. Department of Justice sued to block AT&T’s proposed $39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile USA, saying the deal would "substantially lessen competition" in the wireless market. The complaint was filed today in federal court in Washington.

Tillis gets his awards for Screwing over NC citizens

The Koch corporate funded group that is quite happy to tell you how your life is going to go.  Quite content to write your state's legislation for you… and clearly driving the agenda in North Carolina where the General Assembly has worked hard to pass the entire ALEC package from voter suppression to a full on assault on the State's education system and even a little attack on women's rights while they were at it.  Tillis even managed to organize a veto over-ride on their entire agenda and worked hard toward creating a new kind of segregation in North Carolina AND repealed a law that disallows racist injustice from being used as a consideration in death penalty appeals.  Tillis suggested turning the offices of the NC Department of education into a condo complex.  No wonder ALEC gave him an award.

Yes, Tillis and his crew has sold NC laws and it’s citizens to the Koch’s brothers for untold amounts.. Its not only the Koch’s you are buying our Representatives and Senators, ExxonMobil, Pfizer is another big one, lets not forget AT&T too.. Each of these companies will benefit in some way with th passages of the new tort and state laws..

ALEC came to Raleigh on March 22, 2011, to offer NC lawmakers a "boot camp" on tort reform. The following day, a product liability reform bill was filed that appeared to be taken straight from ALEC's model legislation.

The time has come, we need to vote everyone out of the NCGA and get a whole new bunch in. We have the power to do this. Remember it is us who voted these effers in office, and we can vote them out.

Also I would like to thanks these jerks for gutting the Capital Police budget and forcing them to let go 40 officers, while recently the Governor Office had a bomb scare, and didn’t have enough officers or dogs to Protect the Governor and the staff who work in those building..

But President Jarrett Barrios has refused to resign over the controversy surrounding that bizarre letter to the FCC about AT&T.

To make matters worse, GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios admitted this week that his office sent a letter to the FCC opposing net neutrality. GLAAD had previously been on record as supporting net neutrality.

Yes AT&T is one of companies that what to limit what you can and can’t access on the net, unless you paid higher internet fees. They believe that have the right to limit the speed of your connection, basically its internet censorship

Eliza Krigman reported recently that GLAAD was among a number of progressive groups with no obvious institutional interest in telecom issues who received money from AT&T and subsequently issued public statements supporting AT&T's merger with T-Mobile. Another letter was sent from GLAAD to the FCC opposing possible net neutrality rules. GLAAD later rescinded the letter, claiming it was sent in error. The issue had created an uproar in the gay blogosphere.

So how much did this endorsement cost? Well NAACP is on board too, but claim that the $1 million that they received in 2009 had nothing to do with. In 2010 NEA was given $75,000.

Politico reports:

"A source familiar with the board's deliberations told POLITICO that the executive committee voted in favor of removing president Jarrett Barrios, who refused to resign. Barrios may now take the issue to the full board of directors. A GLAAD spokesman declined to comment on the board's internal deliberations."

Pam’s House Blend has this to say,

"Basically lodging an untruthful defense that jeopardizes the integrity of GLAAD overall -- merited, in my opinion, the board consider that it was time for him to depart," said blogger and activist Pam Spaulding,
