Walkout could determine abortion bill outcome

Bingham just got an excused absence in Senate. He was here just a few min ago. GOP prob has H854 votes Background: http://ow.ly/5PxCe #NCGA

The women in this State deserve real compassion when making decisions about their health not mandates to evoke guilt. #ncpol

Senator Stan Bingham, you are turning your back on women across this state. Be a man and take a vote instead of running away #NCGA

Sen. Stan Bingham, R-Davidson, said he feels strongly that the bill infringes on the doctor-patient relationship. In fact, he was the lone Republican opposing the measure when it passed the Senate by a 29-20 margin. However, he didn’t rule out the possibility of walking out during Thursday’s vote. “I’d be very unhappy in having to feel like I was put in a position that I had to vote for it,” Bingham said.

Lawmakers need a three-fifths majority in order to trump any veto from the governor.  But Senate president Phil Berger, R-Rockingham, said fellow Republican Sen. Richard Stevens will be out the entire week. If both Stevens, who didn’t vote on the bill when it passed the Senate in June, and Bingham miss the override vote, Republicans would only need 29 votes.

I pointed out to Bingham that he could be the deciding vote. But Bingham reiterated that he still wasn’t sure what would happen Thursday.

Ok Folks this guy need to heard from you, even if he not your senator, Every woman in the North Carolina need to contact him.. Force him to vote. Don’t let him just walk out without voting on this bill..

NC Senator in late Life Crisis

Senator-Stan-BinghamSenator-Don-East1It is perhaps worth noting that the lighthearted online headline that appears in Raleigh’s News & Observer regarding the affair (“Eastbound and down: NC senators take 145 m.p.h. joyride”) appears just a few slots below this one entitled “Wake students mourn loss of three in high-speed accident.”

It was bad enough that the two engaged in such blatantly illegal and life-threatening activity. But then the two Mensa members had to brag about it on the Senate floor.

So they are cruising around in muscle sport cars, I wonder are they picking up the other thing too?
