DURHAM - Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, II, president of the North Carolina NAACP, began a statewide tour on January 14th to mobilize for the Moral March on Raleigh HKonJ People's Assembly and to discuss the constitutionally inconsistent, morally indefensible, and economically insane policies passed and supported by Gov. McCrory, Speaker Tillis, Senate Leader Berger, Budget Director Art Pope and other extremists in the legislature.

RALEIGH - Wednesday, 8 January 2014, one month before the Massive Moral March on Raleigh, the NC NAACP-HKonJ Coalition will announce their mobilization plans. The news conference will be at 10:00 AM at Davie St. Presbyterian Church, 300 E. Davie St. Raleigh, NC. There will be a 30-day countdown to the Moral March on Raleigh set for Saturday morning, February 8th. This action will kick off the next stage of the Forward Together Moral movement.

Recently, the Brunswick County Board of Education met to discuss whether or not to remove the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel “The Color Purple” from a high school reading list. The meeting marked at least the third time this year that a North Carolina school board has openly considered removing from a reading list or altogether banning a critically acclaimed work of literature after a small group of parents complained about its content. - See more here:
