My parents asked me if I am gay

I said, "Does it matter?"

They said, "No, not really."

I told them, "Yes."

They said, "Get out of our lives."

I guess it mattered.

My boss asked me if I am gay.

I said, "Does it matter?"

He said, "No, not really."

I told him, "Yes."

He said, "You're fired, faggot."

I guess it mattered.

My friend asked me if I am gay.

I said, "Does it matter?"

He said, "No, not really."

I told him, "Yes."

He said, "Don't call me your friend."

I guess it mattered.

My partner asked, "Do you love me?"

I said, "Does it matter?"

He said, "Yes."

I told him, "I love you."

He said, "Let me hold you in my arms."

For the first time in my life something matters.

My God asked, "Do you love yourself?"

I said, "Does it matter?"

He said, "Yes."

I asked, "How can I love myself? I am gay."

He said, "That's the way I made you."

This year, the Georgia legislature considered a bill that would require women to prove their miscarriages “occurred naturally” and weren’t secret abortions. In a similar vein, the Guardian reports that states including Mississippi and Alabama are charging dozens of women with murder or other serious crimes who have miscarried or had stillbirths:

Across the US more and more prosecutions are being brought that seek to turn pregnant women into criminals.[...]

In Alabama at least 40 cases have been brought under the state’s “chemical endangerment” law. Introduced in 2006, the statute was designed to protect children whose parents were cooking methamphetamine in the home and thus putting their children at risk from inhaling the fumes. Amanda Kimbrough is one of the women who have been ensnared as a result of the law being applied in a wholly different way.[...]

The baby was delivered by caesarean section prematurely in April 2008 and died 19 minutes after birth. Six months later Kimbrough was arrested at home and charged with “chemical endangerment” of her unborn child on the grounds that she had taken drugs during the pregnancy – a claim she has denied.

“That shocked me, it really did,” Kimbrough said. “I had lost a child, that was enough.”

Just enough to make one sick.. One might ask how does the Republicans wants? Easy answer if they target women of poor means, those whom society don’t care about, (mostly African-American, Asian, Latino) You charge them with a felony, they get convicted, they can’t vote. This is just another way to limit who can and can’t vote in this Country.

Other prosecutors are twisting laws designed to protect pregnant women and their unborn children into attacks on child bearers themselves. At least 38 states have introduced fetal homicide laws that were intended to be used against violent attacks by third parties like abusive male partners. But in South Carolina, only one case has been brought against a man for assaulting a pregnant woman, while up to 300 women have been arrested under the law, according to the National Advocates for Pregnant Women.

Women must start reading the news and watching what laws these jerks are trying to pass in their state, This commenters says it best,

The fact these lawmakers have been able to proceed with any of these laws shows how women are not paying attention to what is really important in life. Women outnumber men within the population of the US so this should not be happening! It's time women get a clue and stand united for the rights of all women and get involved because this shows our future as women and the welfare of our children depends on it. – Rebecca White.

So our future prison gangs will be made up with women who’s only crime that they lost a child in birth.. So will the state take care of these women’s other children once they throw her in jail..

I can only hope that there is a lawyer out there that will take this cause all the way to the Supreme Court of the US..

HRC Calls Out Tea Party Activist’s Dangerous Anti-LGBT Bullying Comments

Activist Rich Swier Says Bullying Is “Peer Pressure and it Is Healthy”

WASHINGTON –The Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, is calling out Tea Party activist Rich Swier for his dangerous remarks trivializing bullying. In response to a statistic that said 77 percent of bullied youth were targeted due to their real or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity, Swier said bullying “is peer pressure and it is healthy.” Swier went on to compare being gay to behaviors like smoking, underage drinking and drug abuse.

“Bullying of any kind is unacceptable and can lead to very real and serious consequences,” said HRC’s Vice President of Communications Fred Sainz. “For Rich Swier to publicly suggest that bullying is in fact normal and healthy is irresponsible. It’s alarming that any adult would classify behavior that can cause youth very real physical and emotional harm as acceptable under any circumstances.”

As parents, families, friends and allies of America's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) citizens, we know firsthand the impact that discriminatory laws have on our loved ones and ourselves. Our stories of the pain this prejudice inflicts upon our families are enormously important in moving fair legislation forward and in opposing anti-LGBT bills and resolutions in Congress.

For almost a decade, PFLAG National’s Bringing the Message Home campaign has empowered many of you to meet with countless lawmakers and their staff, helping pass important laws like the Shepard Byrd Hate Crimes Prevention Act and the legislative repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” Now, with the release of our 2011 guide, we have included the most recent federal legislation introduced in the 112^th Congress. Bringing the Message Home will empower and encourage you to begin or continue meeting with federal lawmakers about important issues impacting our LGBT loved ones. It features issue briefs, talking points, information to help you set up a lobby visit, and techniques for gaining the support of your Congress Members.

While the current House of Representatives poses a significant obstacle for pro-LGBT legislation to advance, we view this Congress as an important opportunity to continue education efforts vital to the ultimate passage of legislation like the Safe Schools Improvement Act, the Every Child Deserves a Family Act and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, among the many other critical bills necessary to extend full equality to our LGBT loved ones and ourselves.
