NCGA-Douchebag Andrew Brock

Lawmakers' security expands as Capitol Police cut

Andrew Brock

Sen. Andrew Brock, R-Davie, said recent protests that interrupted House proceedings reinforce the need for upgraded security to protect lawmakers, staff and visitors alike.

"If you compare our building to other government buildings around, where they have a photo identification system, take your picture, put it on a sticker (and) visitors wear a badge, we don't have that here," Brock said.

Really, people walk  in and out the Nature and NC museum without id everyday, with out be search…

Brock is just carrying the party idiocy ideology. Which has been proven they only care about themselves.True they should have full time protection, that is if they were a full time Legislators, which they are not. The Capital police protect those what are full time in Raleigh..

Miseem had this to say, Let's see. Cut State Capitol police by 2 million, cutting 20 jobs. Add 3 million to legislative "protection". Wonder who will get the contracts and how many positions it will take.

However I do agree with ProudBlackSingleMother, So they want to restrict access to the building to keep the minions out? Sounds like a scam to me... they should not get that 2mil... it should be returned to the citizens that actually pay taxes.

That is it they want to restrict who can sit and watch, they want to keep the watch dogs out of the galleries.. They want to keep the citizens of NC in the dark.. I sure Tillis would love to Block Rev. Barber from the Gallery…

Sarah P: Lame Duck President

From I can’t do it Governor of Alaska, it would seem she finally got a good speech/note writer for her facebook account..

For those whom don’t follow this douchebag…

from her notes on Facebook,

After listening to the President’s press conference today, let’s keep in mind the following:

This is the same president who proposed an absurdly irresponsible budget that would increase our debt by trillions of dollars, and whose party failed to even put forward a budget in over 800 days! This is the same president who is pushing our country to the brink because of his reckless spending on things like the nearly trillion dollar “stimulus” boondoggle. This is the same president who ignored his own debt commission’s recommendations and demonized the voices of fiscal sanity who proposed responsible plans to reform our entitlement programs and rein in our dangerous debt trajectory. This is the same president who wanted to push through an increase in the debt ceiling that didn’t include any cuts in government spending! This is the same president who wants to slam Americans with tax hikes to cover his reckless spending, but has threatened to veto a bill proposing a balanced budget amendment. This is the same president who hasn’t put forward a responsible plan himself, but has rejected reasonable proposals that would tackle our debt. This is the same president who still refuses to understand that the American electorate rejected his big government agenda last November. As I said in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Tax Day Tea Party rally, “We don’t want it. We can’t afford it. And we are unwilling to pay for it.”

Now the President is outraged because the GOP House leadership called his bluff and ended discussions with him because they deemed him an obstruction to any real solution to the debt crisis.

He has been deemed a lame duck president. And he is angry now because he is being treated as such.

His foreign policy strategy has been described as “leading from behind.” Well, that’s his domestic policy strategy as well. Why should he be surprised that he’s been left behind in the negotiations when he’s been leading from behind on this debt crisis?

Thank you, GOP House leaders. Please don’t get wobbly on us now.

2012 can’t come soon enough.

Boehner blames Obama for collapse of debt talks

House Speaker John Boehner said the White House "moved the goal posts" by demanding an additional $400 billion in revenue during talks over a deal to avoid default. He said he was confident the U.S. will not default but said the White House has "refused to get serious" about spending cuts.
"Dealing with the White House is like dealing with a bowl of Jell-O," Boehner said.

This Guy is one major Dick, protecting the rich, big oil and big business who don’t pay taxes at all.. I wonder if he has place money on the country defaulting.

John Boehner the Dickhead of Congress…

New Douchebag of the Week..

robin hayes ncgop chairAsked about unemployment and the number of North Carolinians losing their jobs, NC GOP chair Robin Hayes said “I hope it does increase.”

all over this

In the name of a single penny, the GOP passed a budget inconsistent with North Carolina values, and now NC workers that the GOP says it supports are paying the price by losing their jobs.

This is really one sick person, proving that NC GOP is pro Big OIL and Big Business, while screwing over Teachers and NC Children.

Pentagon, President Certify Legislative Repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"

President Barack Obama on Friday formally enacted the end to the ban on gays serving openly in the military.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Servicemembers United, the nation's largest organization of gay and lesbian troops and veterans, hailed today's news that the President, the Secretary of Defense, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff have all signed off on, or certified, the repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law.

"Today, gay and lesbian servicemembers can and will breath a huge sigh of relief. While we still must wait 60 days for this change to formally take effect and for the law to officially be off the books, this step is nothing short of historic," said Alexander Nicholson, Executive Director of Servicemembers United and a former U.S. Army Human Intelligence Collector who was discharged under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." "This is the final nail in the coffin for the discriminatory, outdated, and harmful 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' law. All servicemembers, the U.S. military, and the nation will be better off as a result of this long overdue change in policy."

Certification - a formal acknowledgement by the President, the Secretary of Defense, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff that military is ready for the repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law - was the last major political hurdle before the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Repeal Act of 2010 could take effect. Now a 60-day waiting period will commence, at the end of which the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law will officially be repealed and off the books.

In 2010, a U.S. District Court judge found the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law to be unconstitutional in a lawsuit brought by the Log Cabin Republicans and in which Servicemembers United's Executive Director served as the sole named plaintiff. A subsequent worldwide injunction barred enforcement of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law against servicemembers by the Department of Defense. That injunction, which had previously been stayed for a period of time by the Ninth Circuit, has been partially back in effect as of July 15th.

Pat McCrory's verbal attacks on the Governor

Via NC Democratic Party Facebook notes,

full text,

CHARLOTTE - NC Democratic Party Executive Director Jay Parmley issued the following statement in response to Pat McCrory's verbal attacks on the Governor in regard to new unemployment numbers.

"Pat McCrory's attack on the Governor is a shame and his solutions-- as far as we can intuit them-- are a sham.  The former Mayor Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrorycontinues to criticize the work of men and women who are leading during the toughest time in our state's modern history while doing nothing to solve those problems.

He hasn't even announced he's running for governor, which enables him to attack Bev Perdue without facing any scrutiny himself.  That's cowardly and safe-- two things that Bev Perdue hasn't had the luxury to be since she defeated McCrory three years ago.

From McCrory, no solutions.  He gave us a hint about his agenda last week when he issued a robocall urging supporters to demand that their legislators override Bev Perdue's vetoes.  We can presume that he would have rubber stamped everything this republican legislative majority proposed.

This leaves voters triangulating McCrorys positions from one-sided press releases, speeches to tea party gatherings and the GOP agenda.

On the jobs issue, we can only assume that he would have permanently frozen long term unemployment benefits-- without relief-- as the leaders of his party attempted to do this year.

He would have allowed them to make even deeper cuts to our schools and the public sector, which represent the single greatest job losses government has direct control over.  In this terrible economy, he would have laid off far more teachers than Thom Tillis and Phil Berger did this year already.

The unemployment rate would be even higher under Governor McCrory.

Meanwhile, the Berger/Tillis/McCrory formula for job creation is "reg reform, med mal and energy" (quoting an @SenatorBerger tweet in response to today's numbers).  Not one of them has hung any details on that scant recipe for recovery.

Regulatory reform this session has taken the form of gutting environmental rules.  Are we to assume that McCrory would entice manufacturers by advertising the most lenient pollution rules in the region?

Their Med Mal legislation sought to strip patients of their right to seek damages the event of an emergency room error.  This creates job opportunities for whom?  The lousiest doctors in the country, unemployable in states that care about consumer rights?

Finally, their energy plan seeks to open our pristine coasts and the piedmont to drilling and natural gas fracking.  This would welcome Big Oil to the Tarheel State, creating a revenue stream for Republican politicians looking for political donations, and the potential for environmental disaster and polluted water for the rest of us.

Republican office holders and also-maybe-might-of-rans like Pat McCrory are pitching the same tired trickle down economics that most of us discounted years ago: tax breaks for millionaires, low wages for workers, zero regulations for polluters and big business.

It's a lie, and Pat McCrory is pushing it with impunity.  If he'd like to announce he's running for office and stand before the people and the press to face our questions, he should do it.  But the unfounded attacks that non-mayor, non-candidate McCrory has become so fond of don't do a thing to help bring down the unemployment rate.  That's cowardice, pure and simple."

South Central L.A. Tea Party Rally To Expose NAACP Lies

#naacp #immigrant #ccir #ccc

Black pastor who thanked god for slavery to host anti-NAACP rally http://sp.lc/raWGc0

WOW, this guy must really be off his meds for a very long time,

Barbara Coe, head of the anti-immigrant hate group California Coalition for Immigration Reform (CCIR) and a self-described member the Council of Conservative Citizens (CCC), which considers black people a “retrograde species of humanity,” will be speaking this Sunday at a tea party rally “to expose NAACP lies and their big government agenda.”

Ho hum, you say? Read on.

The rally, which is scheduled to coincide with the NAACP’s 102nd annual convention, is being sponsored by the South Central L.A. Tea Party. Its founder is Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, a controversial black minister and radio personality who once thanked God for slavery; has said that most blacks “lack moral character;” and who in 2009 wrote an article headlined “Obama hates the white man,” for the far-right World Net Daily.

His beef with the NAACP? According to the press release announcing Sunday’s rally, Peterson’s tea party group alleges that, “NAACP has made numerous false allegations of ‘racism’ against Tea Party groups, but has yet to provide a shred of evidence backing up their baseless claims.” (This charge against the NAACP is false. A full report on extremism in the tea party movement can be found at teapartynationalism.com).

Ellmers Statement on North Carolina Jobless Figures

Hey dipstick, NC figures are a direct result to the NC Budget, nothing to do with Washington, don’t know what meds you are taking but please pull your head out of whomever ass it is in..

Ellmers Slams Senate's Rejection of Cut, Cap and Balance

as North Carolina Unemployment Rate Rises to 9.9 %

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Renee Ellmers released the following statement from her office in Washington this afternoon:

"Today we received another example of how dire our economic crisis is. This morning, the NC Employment Security Commission announced that North Carolina's unemployment rate has risen to 9.9 percent, even higher than the national average. These figures are deeply disheartening and show that our economic situation is not getting the full attention it deserves. People are struggling to make ends meet and worrying as to whether their business will be the next to hand out pink slips. Small businesses are seeing their budgets busted by high energy costs and uncertainty that currently exist in the market due to the threat of higher taxes, inflation, and government overreach. When will President Obama and Governor Purdue wake up and realize that their policies have failed and are only causing more harm to our economy?"

"Here in Washington, we successfully passed the Cut, Cap and Balance Act on Tuesday, which I was pleased to co-sponsor. The Cut, Cap and Balance Act is a constitutional, permanent solution to put an end to the spending-driven debt crisis and save our children and grandchildren from a bankrupt future. But this morning, the Senate rejected this important law, preferring instead to continue to put off our financial problems as they have for the past three years. This is not only irresponsible, but even more, it is hurting the American people. 'Where are the jobs?' is not a skewed question. After today's unemployment report, it continues to be a very real question."

This morning, the North Carolina Employment Security Commission released the latest unemployment figures, showing that North Carolina’s unemployment rate rose to 9.9 percent in June after holding steady at 9.7 percent the previous three months. Some 446,377 North Carolinians were unemployed last month, while total nonfarm employment stood at more than 4.05 million.
