Light the Way to Justice | Vigil Events around NC

    • As the Supreme Court judges the fate of DOMA and Prop 8, join us for as we call for full LGBT equality.
      Vigils will be taking place across the country as the nation's highest court hears oral arguments in the Prop 8 and DOMA cases on March 26 and 27.

      Equality NC is honored to host the March 26th vigil led by community leaders Tracy Hollister and Madeline Goss.
      The event will involve:

      Equality NC Vigils for Marriage Equality

      a coalition of pro-equality organizations, and supporters of LGBT rights from across the state. We will wait in vigil with the hope that our legislators will oppose the anti-gay constitutional amendment.

      The anti-gay amendment will change our State Constitution to ban same-sex marriage (as statute already does),and prohibit civil unions and nullify domestic partnership benefits. The vigil will take place the night of a special legislative session on constitutional amendments and will coincide with the predicted vote on House Bill 777/Senate Bill 106.
