What is the bigger risk inside a state capitol building: openly carrying an American flag or an assault rifle? In Virginia, capitol visitors can not bring American flags and signs affixed to sticks, because capitol security considers sticks a public threat. Firearms, however, are allowed.
Media Matters points out a story overlooked last week by almost all of mainstream media: 
On June 19, Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA) signed a bill that sets penalties of up to six months in jail and $10,000 for those who publish "any information regarding the identity of any person who applied for or received a concealed handgun permit." The law includes exceptions for cases in which the concealed handgun holder is charged with a felony offense involving the use of a handgun. Supporters cited as their rationale for proposing the law a New York paper's controversial December publication of a Google map that featured the names and addresses of local handgun permit holders, saying that the legislation was necessary to prevent local media outlets from publishing similar information.

Virginia Tech being Sued for some wack out asshole who decided to shoot up the campus, One would think the want to keep guns off of the campus, well, most folks who have a brain do. However a small group of back-water assholes think differently.
Members of the Virginia Citizens Defense League will visit ODU's Kaufman Mall on the afternoon of Nov. 1 to lobby for weapons policies that leave "the decision to carry or not to carry and how to carry up to the individual," according to an email alert from the group Monday. The ODU protest, organized with a college Republican group, is part of a broader VCDL push to oppose policies that prohibit holders of concealed-weapon permits from bringing their weapons into campus buildings. The gun rights group is scheduling similar protests on college campuses around Virginia.
After all Guns on campus. What could go wrong?
Like us, many of you may be frustrated by recent legislation that seems to deny all sense of reason. As you know the majority of North Carolina residents are opposed to allowing concealed guns into family restaurants and bars. More than 70% of voters understand that guns and alcohol are a bad combination.
It’s just common sense.
On Tuesday two bills which would allow loaded, concealed guns into family restaurants and guns in public school parking lots will be heard by the Judiciary II Committee in the Senate. (HB 111 /HB 650).
