Here we go again, will there be Hostages?

fdAs of last week, extended benefits recipients who visited the Division of Employment Security’s website got a nasty shock – a red-letter warning that their benefits were expected to run out on Jan 28th.

So will what will the Berger-Tillis Gang do about? I mean they claim to have pass many jobs bills, wait where is that list of new jobs.?

Will the B&T Gang hold the unemployed of NC once again as political hostages, to get what they want?

remember this

Last spring, Democratic Governor Bev Perdue and Republican legislative leaders got into a heated political battle over exactly the same problem. That standoff lasted seven weeks, affecting nearly 50,000 people.

Email on how Republicans Voted Down American Jobs, Once again

by Josh Dorner
Republicans Vote Down American Jobs — AGAIN

In their never-ending quest to protect millionaires and billionaires, Senate Republicans once again voted down American Jobs. Last week, they joined together to unanimously oppose the millions of jobs that would be created by the American Jobs Act. Last night, the Senate took up one part of the president’s jobs plan — a provision for nearly 400,000 jobs for teachers, firefighters, and cops — and Senate Republicans had another chance to go on record. And again they all voted no.

Here’s the rundown.

WHAT:

The Teachers and First Responders Back to Work Act

THE INVESTMENT:

$35 BILLION ($30 BILLION for teachers and $5 BILLION for first responders)

HOW IT WAS PAID FOR:

By a one-half of 1 percent surtax on any income above $1 MILLION (the first million dollars is still taxed today’s low rates)

HOW MANY AMERICAN JOBS THE GOP VOTED AGAINST:

At least 392,100 — with jobs in all 50 states

HOW MANY JOBS YOUR SENATOR VOTED AGAINST:

Check out our handy state-by-state spreadsheet HERE.

Some examples:

WHAT’S NEXT:

Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), and Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) introduced the Rebuild America Act today. The bill will invest billions in our crumbling roads, bridges, airports, and other infrastructure projects across the country, creating hundreds of thousands of jobs. The Senate is on recess next week and will attempt to take up the bill when it returns.

Watch this space for more details.

IN ONE SENTENCE: Republicans had a choice between American jobs or protecting millionaires, and once again Republicans chose to protect millionaires and billionaires instead of keeping teachers, cops, and firefighters on the job.

Eric Can'tor Says "NO" To American Jobs

DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz rips Eric Can'tor for his unwillingness to even allow a vote on the American Jobs Act, or for that matter to lift a finger to create American jobs in any other way either. And no, Can'tor's repeated refrain about "regulatory uncertainty" causing companies not to hire is nothing other than complete and utter nonsense

Eric Cantor on the OccupyWall..

At the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C Friday, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) referred to the Occupy Wall Street protests as “growing mobs.”

“This administration’s policies have resulted in an assault on many of our nation’s bedrock principles,” Cantor declared. “If you read the newspapers today, I, for one, am increasingly concerned about the growing mobs occupying Wall Street and the other cities across the country.”

Yes now when Americans citizens take a stand they are called Mobs. THE only true Mob that we need to worry about is those in Congress…

NC Congress Senator Selling out the People.

Via the Progressive Pulse,

Kay Hagan is introducing a bill today with her new chum, John McCain, to slash taxes on giant, profitable multi-national corporations. As we noted back in July after her speech to a pro-corporate think tank on the matter, this is the last thing our economy or tax system needs.

This is from that article:

“The bottom line on this matter is pretty simple:

1)      There is simply no end to the creativity of corporations and their tax lawyers when it comes to devising ways to avoid paying taxes (i.e. their fair share of the bill for our essential public services and structures);

2)      The last thing the American government or economy needs is another huge tax break for giant, profitable corporations; and

3)      Senator Hagan must know these truths and if she doesn’t, she needs to get up to speed real fast.”

Yes Hagen doesn’t care about the people, only the corps, that are handing her money under the table to do what they wish of her. She isn’t paying attention at all. Hello Hagan, Wake the Fuck UP… And smell the Bullshit…

I wonder how much does it cost to buy a Congressman/woman????

Minority Leader Joe Hackney statement on job losses in the University of North Carolina system

The damage from this Republican-led General Assembly and its destructive budget plan becomes clearer every day. Today, we learn that our university system now has 4,500 fewer employees than it did a year ago, continuing to erode the quality of education for our young people. North Carolina once distinguished itself from other states with its commitment to our university system. That distinction is threatened under Republican leadership. Ensuring North Carolina has a world-class university system is the key to giving future generations the tools needed to compete in a global economy. Rather than protecting our children and grandchildren's futures, however, Republicans are turning back the clock on education and progress in North Carolina.

September 17th: Day Of Rage

DayOfRage

From their website:

On the 17th of September, we want to see 20,000 people to flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months. Once there, we shall incessantly repeat one simple demand in a plurality of voices and we will not leave until that demand has been met. Like our brothers and sisters in Egypt, Greece, Spain, and Iceland, we plan to use the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic of mass occupation to restore democracy in America. We also encourage the use of nonviolence to achieve our ends and maximize the safety of all participants.
