Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, purchasing time on 20 NC radio stations to encourage legislators to support the anti-gay marriage amendment.
The ads, which will run from today through Monday, ask voters to call their state legislators and urge them to vote for adding a marriage amendment to the ballot next year. The ad also encourages listeners to attend a rally at 11 a.m. Eastern on Monday, September 12 outside of the statehouse.
Two versions of the ad are running, including one voiced by Pastor Patrick L. Wooden, Sr., of the Upper Room Church of God in Christ in Raleigh, NC. The ads will run in the districts of State Reps. Chuck McGrady, Michael Wray, Winkie Wilkins, Annie Mobley, Garland Pierce, Elmer Floyd, Larry Bell, Charles Graham, Earline Parmon, Jim Crawford, Glen Bradley and State Sen. Eric Mansfield.
The ad script says:
“Marriage is at risk in our state. Our laws defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman could be overturned. Marriage between one man and one woman benefits families in society so we must preserve the marriage laws in our state Constitution.
“On September 12, the North Carolina legislature will vote on putting a marriage amendment to a vote of the people. Powerful voices in our state capitol are threatening your right to vote on marriage. Take a stand for marriage. Call [your representative] and ask [them] to vote yes to the marriage amendment. It’s not about party, it’s about marriage.
“And on September 12, join us for a rally supporting marriage at 11 a.m. in front of the legislative building in Raleigh. Bring a sign and take a stand for marriage.”

Of the ad campaign, FRC Action President Tony Perkins said:
“Marriage is the fundamental building block of our society. Children grow up with the greatest emotional stability in households with a loving and committed mother and father. Married couples rely less on government programs, and contribute to society rather than depending on the welfare state.
“North Carolina invests in itself when it allows its citizens to vote on protecting and defending marriage. We urge the legislature to take this important step for their state, and join the majority of states nationwide in approving a ballot vote on marriage.”

NC House Majority Leader Paul Stam share Marriage-Banning Optimism With Two Hate Groups
WILDMON: Shouldn’t this be a slam dunk once it gets out there to the people of North Carolina?Watch the full exchange:
STAM: Well, we believe the people will pass it by 60, 65, 70 percent. That has never been the issue. The issue has been the old guard, for a decade, just not wanting to have the vote.
Wack job, Ron Baity had this to say, The lead proponent of the amendment,
Ron Baity of Return America, said yesterday that it’s essential because Satan has marriage in the “crosshairs,” hoping “to tear down the idea of Christ’s unconditional love for us.”Stam is just promoting his own brand of bigotry, and racism (that can only be found in the south.) Stam with the rest of his douchebag clan in the NCGA, want to turn the time back to good ole days of Jim Crow .
But lets really face the facts on this Amendment, if the House and Senate does pass it. It will be used to help fill the coffers of the hate and equality groups (local and national.) There will be a Yes on and No on campaign all across the state of NC.. There will be rallies, protests, radio and tv ads for both sides. Each will claim there are right and the other is wrong. Both Side will be burning up the cell and land lines up, call up voters..
So no matter what happens this September in Raleigh, it won’t be the end of the issue at all. Not, until DOMA is overturn.

Stupid is as Stupid does….
Focus On The Family: Gay Marriage Means Teaching Kids There's No Difference Between Male and Female
Fighting for Traditional Marriage is a $$$$$ Opportunity
It would seem that the good religious zealots over at the FRC need more, and more money to for them to continue to promote their own bigotry on this matter.
Is this what the fight for Marriage Equality? I poly to raise money for their Organizations, however they are not alone in this. Those on the other are just as guilty.

Tony isn’t very Happy this week
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 24, 2011
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Family Research Council (FRC) President Tony Perkins reacted to the vote by the New York State Senate, releasing the following statement:
“Enormous political coercion has resulted in a profound failure of moral courage in the New York Senate. A clear majority of the people of New York oppose counterfeit ‘marriage,’ but Gov. Cuomo and anti-family lawmakers have shown that their allegiance is to a small but vocal minority seeking to redefine marriage and family.
“The so-called religious protections that were tacked on to the bill will ultimately do nothing to protect the religious rights of New York citizens. As we go forward there is little doubt that the “incentives,” some taxpayer funded, used to sway votes, especially Republican ones, will be exposed.
Yes Tony truly believe that the Dems brought those few Reps that voted to legalize Same-Sex Marriages in New York.. I just love freaks like Tony, who claim they are protecting marriage, while they do nothing to stop divorce or marriage break downs. You know that fundies just love to claim that SSM will lead to human and animal marriages and human and machines marriages too. Please, I think Tony and other’s like him, who gets on their soap box and tell such lies, are drinking too much of the kool aid that they are bushing themselves, or they are off their meds, hell maybe both.
