It is time to once again make your voices heard and stand up against the NC GOP attack on our great state! You have witnessed their priorities from the despicable legislation seen up to this point. As you know, they have attacked education, public health, consumer protections, environmental protections, voting rights, and workers' rights. We have witnessed legislation to provide more corporate tax breaks, while playing politics with extended unemployment benefits. With their recently passed budget, it is time for us to let them know where we stand!
So, we are inviting you to take part in a picket outside a NC GOP fundraiser (tickets at $5,000-where is the shared sacrifice), hosted by the NC GOP House Caucus. The fundraiser will feature Speaker Thom Tillis, Rep. Paul Stam, Rep. Ruth Samuelson, Rep. Nelson Dollar, Rep. Marilyn Avila, and Rep. Tom Murry. These lawmakers need to know where we stand. The details of the picket are below:
What: Picket outside NC GOP House Caucus Fundraiser
When: Wednesday, June 29
Time: 5-6:30pm
Where: 34 West Franklin sidewalk, across from 18 Seaboard Restaurant
*Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. We encourage you to participate as long as you can, and understand if you cannot be there the entire time. Some signs will be available and homemade signs are strongly encouraged. This is not a union event, but open to everyone that is fed up with the NC GOP agenda. Please feel free to invite family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc.
Please reply to this email or contact Adam Orlovich at 919.833.6678 if you plan on attending or need more information. Thanks and hope to see you this Wednesday!
