School cuts hurt young and at-risk kids, official tells judge http://sns.mx/Z4cMy9

The testimony came in Wake County Superior Court, where Judge Howard Manning Jr. is holding a hearing on whether state budget cuts endanger children's constitutional right to a sound basic education under the landmark Leandro school quality case.

The plaintiffs in the long-running case -- five poor school districts -- claim that the changes and cuts by the legislature will undo the educational progress made in the state since the initial Supreme Court ruling in Leandro in 1997. And, they argue, the budget violates children's right to a sound basic education as established by the Supreme Court.

I hope the judge find that budget cut violates the children’s constitutional rights to a full balance education.. and I hope he declares if full unconstitutional, forcing the NCGA get do a complete new budget..

We have money for war but no money for Education,  Why?? better yet NC Rep Tillis has money for raises, yet NC schools don’t for books and school supplies, why??
