Two days ago, on Saturday morning, to the largest civil rights gathering in Eastern North Carolina in decades, Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, II presented his annual "State of Civil Rights in North Carolina" report to the North Carolina NAACP. He heaped praise on the tens of thousands of North Carolinians who participated in the 13 Moral Mondays at the Peoples House on Jones Street in Raleigh to expose the tea party's extreme legislative policies.  He thanked the local peoples assemblies that brought the Forward Together Movement into every corner of the state, at simultaneous assemblies in the 13 U.S. Congressional Districts at the same hour, 50 years ago, that Dr. Martin Luther King urged the 1963 participants to take the March on Washington back home in the South, to accelerate the long, hard work of dismantling racism back home.  And he listed the dozen Moral Mondays that have been held around the state, and several that are planned in the near future--as well as Moral Monday groups becoming activated around the nation.

Tami Fitzgerald has her nickers in a knot

is foaming at the mouth, over the fact that NC’s Attorney General Roy Cooper will be giving the Keynote Speech at this year Equality NC Gala in Greensboro. She Feels that since he is the State Attorney who must defend  Amendment one shouldn’t be giving speech at this LGBT Gala.

See email from her below,

We need your help immediately.Tami-L.-Fitzgerald

Right now North Carolina's Marriage Amendment is under attack and the person charged with defending it in court is Democrat Attorney General Roy Cooper, who has made his opposition to the amendment clear in the past.

Now we have learned that Roy Cooper will headline a fundraising event for Equality NC - the very group that is working on the ground in North Carolina to overturn the Amendment we worked so hard to get passed!

This is outrageous!

How can an Attorney General charged with defending the definition of marriage contained in our Constitution also headline an event designed to overturn that very same Constitutional provision?

Clearly he is unwilling to stand up for the Amendment that over 60% of North Carolinians support!

We need your help immediately! We clearly cannot rely on the Attorney General to defend our Marriage Amendment!

Please make an emergency donation today to the NC Values Coalition.

With your donation today, we can make sure everyone in North Carolina knows the Attorney General is more interested in future political ambitions than performing the job he was elected to do.

There is no time to waste - please donate right now!

I feel this is a scam, since no matter how much money they get, thay can’t stop him for speaking at this event. Tami and her goons are just ripping people off, Period. I guess they need this month rent and light bill money…

in other news Cooper had said many time he has defended a law of NC, that he doesn’t agree with, cause it was his job to do. So Tami is just blowing smoke and asking for money to support her political ambitions and her life-style
