Does Paul Stam have Memory Problem?

I think Paul Stam is suffering from some type of Memory disorder, or he just for forgot to read “what have I’ve said in the Past.”

Stam has let the power of his job go to that oversize balloon, that he calls his head. Also Stam is just a over grown bully in the NCGA, not happy us he gets his way, Period.

By: Paul Stam, Representative of the 37th District
April 5, 2006

Every day it becomes more evident that there will be a change in the Speakership by opening day of the General Assembly. Yet, more important than changing the Representative who holds the gavel is changing how the House operates.

North Carolina desperately needs to transform our state government into a modern 21st Century democracy. It’s time to leave behind the secrecy, the log rolling and the perception that trading campaign cash for legislative favors is required or helpful.

There are issues the House can address on opening day – fundamental reforms that will create a climate of open and honest government, restore integrity to the legislative process, and renew the public’s confidence in our governing institutions and leaders.

  • Place a limit of three terms on any future Speaker of the House.
  • Each party caucus to determine its own membership on all committees, (standing, select and conference) proportional to its representation in the House.
  • No Legislation in the main budget beyond that necessary to carry out the appropriations and revenue items.
  • No provisions in the conference report which were not previously in the House or Senate version of the budget or which are necessary to effectuate a true compromise of provisions in dispute.
  • No voting by floaters (ex-officio members) on any committee.
  • No closed-door sessions of the budget conference committee. Public announcement of meetings of the committee or its subcommittees.
  • Independent redistricting commission.
  • Rules revised to restore the Regular Order employing standard parliamentary principles to the operation of business in the House.
All of these reforms can be subverted by a speaker or rules chair who won’t enforce the rules. More than anything we need presiding officers who will commit to actually apply the rules adopted by the House in a fair and transparent manner. We will be requesting any new incoming Speaker of the House publicly address these issues, and pledge to implement and uphold the reforms we need to restore open government to the citizens of our State.

Yet he did the very thing that he call for reform of.

How do you spell liar, in NC

Via the @NCCapitol,liar (2)

Two House Democrats who voted with Republicans on veto overrides this week say those votes had nothing to do with improvements to their districts in new House maps unveiled this morning. House Republican leaders also deny any connection.

Details on the district changes are here.

Really, overrides votes not tides to the district maps, and just what are they smoking…

House 6 Timothy L. Spear

Rep. Spear, D-Washington, said moving his district back out to Hyde and Dare makes it more compact.

But Wait Spear, busts a gasket,

But Spear angrily denies he made any deal with GOP leaders for the district revision.

“No. No, and don’t even insinuate that. I don’t appreciate that at all,” Spear said.

The other turncoat/liar in NCGA,

House 66Ken Goodman

Rep. Ken Goodman, D-Richmond, who voted to override the veto of S781 after voting against the bill when it came through, says he changed his mind about it after those early votes.

Goodman and Spear, we are not that stupid, you traded your votes to protect your own jobs, throwing women and the environment under the bus. No matter how you deny it, this is what you have done. I can only hope in time someone will challenge you in your district and get voted in, unseating your two sorry asses..

Stam, Fraudulent Vote

- Editorial: Shameless - Voter ID lives on, thanks to a fraudulent vote By Stam #ncga http://t.co/PyPyFJC via @fayobserver

Somebody needs to check Rep. Paul Stam's ID. The House majority leader committed voter fraud Tuesday.

Of course, that's not a felony in the General Assembly. There, it's only a parliamentary maneuver to keep a bill alive. Still, there's something classically cynical about Stam voting with Democrats against overriding Gov. Bev Perdue's veto of the bill that orders voters to produce a picture ID at the polls.

If it not allow in public forum then it should be allow in the NCGA at all. Its time for Stam to quit.

But thanks to Stam's own bit of voter fraud, it may yet become law, because his bogus vote was a parliamentary maneuver that allowed the bill to be reconsidered.

Bachmann: Leave My Husband Alone!

Michele Bachmann says her husband Marcus should not be a campaign topic (despite his Christian gay to straight conversion clinic). Yet she made Mrs. Obama an issue while he campaign..

Cindy Jacobs is hearing Voices in her bedroom!!

cindy-jacobsVangelis Cindy Jacobs, whom you probably best know for claiming that God killed the birds because of the repeal of DADT, shares her first biblical vision: Obvious she is off her medication again.. I bet this was some type of strange sex play between her and her husband.

Around three a.m., I was awakened by a voice, "Wake up! I want to talk with you! I am Gabriel and I am here to give you a message from God.” I did not see him; nonetheless, I had no doubt that he was who he said he was. The next thing I knew, I was having a vision of mounting and riding a huge chestnut horse and my friend Julie was mounting and riding a white stallion. She was part of a vast army of women. As the Lord showed me country after country, I saw thousands of women on horseback behind me to march across the earth. In the vision, I was wearing armor and carried a sword.Gabriel told me that the women in the vision comprised a great company of women who would march across the planet, preaching the gospel, doing miracles, and transforming the nations.

Just like Joseph Smith, when god talks to them they are prophets, when God talks to me I’m schizophrenic.

McCrory: Stop Poor-Mouthing North Carolina

RALEIGH, NC - North Carolina Democratic Party Chairman David Parker today blasted Republican gubernatorial candidate Pat McCrory for “continually talking down North Carolina as a place to do business in order to score cheap political points.”

“McCrory thinks the way he can become governor is by poor-mouthing North Carolina’s economy.  McCrory is either unaware, or else he chooses to ignore the reams of data showing that North Carolina continues to be a great place to do business and locate a company.  All he’s doing is undermining the state’s business recruitment efforts and telling business leaders to make their investments somewhere else,” said Parker.

Parker pointed out that in its most recent rankings, Site Selection magazine, ranked North Carolina as the #1 best business climate in the nation.  In addition, Chief Executive magazine ranked North Carolina as the #2 best state for business in 2011, and CNBC ranked North Carolina #3 in its America’s Top States for Business survey in June 2011.

“The entire nation continues to suffer economically and we all know we need more jobs.  If McCrory cared about creating jobs in North Carolina as much as he cared about trying to win an election, he’d help attract business investment here by telling the truth about what a great state we are, rather than always talking us down,” Parker said.  “It is really unhelpful when a politician puts his own political future over what’s best for working families in this state.”

Parker also pointed to the state’s AAA bond rating and government belt-tightening as further indications of Governor Perdue’s strong fiscal management.  He noted that a recent review by Moody’s put many of North Carolina’s neighboring states under a credit watch while reaffirming North Carolina’s AAA rating.  North Carolina is one of the only seven states that have earned the top ranking from all three of the rating agencies.

“The Republican strategy of stalling the economy for their own political advantage has to stop.”

Ellmers pull you head out of the Tea/GOP litter box

First off its not Obama job to do your damn job, If you can’t handle it, then resign ASAP, if not STFU and do your job, that is if you know how. I’m sure by now the folks whom write the books for dummies has one by now for Congress Freshman like yourself.

So now the President has resorted to hunkering down at theiPhonebadge.png White House, leaving the tough decisions to Congress. Every now and then we hear from him on TV, begging Americans to call on Congress like a child asking one parent to convince the other to use their credit card. While job creators are struggling to make payroll and forced to make layoffs, the President marches on with his tax, spend and borrow policies that will only kill more jobs and continue to stifle economic growth.

Let see, you the baggers/GOP’ers will raise the tax on the wealthy thing might improve a lot in this country. I read that if we would tax them at the pre-Reagan era, the amount would be close to $1 trillion dollars in new taxes.

I’m so glad that under the old and new NC maps I still live just outside of her district..

We are engaged in a war on spending that started years before this crisis and will be waged for years to come. This current conflict over the national debt is the latest battle in the spending war that can and must be won.

I’m Sorry Renee, but Bush spend more then Obama have. See chart,

So when the Baggers finally get their Ass’s in line, and face the fact that Tea-Party is bunch of racists, whom are pissed that We, the American People elected a Africa-American to the Highest level of our Government, then we can finally move on and govern this country the way it should be done.

btw,

the last time I check, the President just can’t spend without congress approval. So I hope the baggers and you will get this thru yours thick leafy heads and stop blaming the President for debt this country has..

Congress Freshman Ellmers Speaks

Dear Friend,

Our time is now. This is the moment where we as a country must make the difficult decisions and fight the good fight.

This crisis did not begin last week or even a few months ago. It is the result of decades of wasteful spending at the hands of the very people entrusted to preserve our union and protect our economic future. But today, that game is over.

With only four days left before our nation faces an unprecedented default on our debt, President Obama still has no plan. At this crucial hour he has passed the buck and refused to take responsibility for the office he holds. His lack of leadership is glaring. In this, the most serious economic crisis in recent years, our president has failed to lead. But here in the House of Representatives, we are more than happy to take up this task and rescue our economy from disaster.

To date we have proposed and passed countless bills to cut spending and cap the growth of the federal government, each time being ignored or rejected by Harry Reid and President Obama. Just last week we passed a historic bill known as Cut, Cap and Balance which I was proud to co-sponsor. Along with my freshman colleagues, I traveled to the floor of the Senate to watch as Harry Reid and his liberal allies voted to let our bill die a slow death. I was there to look each Senator in the eye as they submitted their votes and watched in astonishment as they once again failed to do their job, just as they have for over 800 days without passing a budget.

So now the President has resorted to hunkering down at the White House, leaving the tough decisions to Congress.

I was proud to support and co-sponsor Cut, Cap and Balance and believe it holds long-term potential. Throughout this debate I have been clear and firm on what needs to happen in order to raise the debt ceiling: spending cuts must be greater than the amount of debt raised and tax increases are unacceptable. We don't have a revenue problem Mr. President, we have a spending problem.

We are engaged in a war on spending that started years before this crisis and will be waged for years to come. This current conflict over the national debt is the latest battle in the spending war that can and must be won. The Budget Control Act put forth by Speaker Boehner is not perfect, and as I have come to find throughout my life, few things are. This plan is the best step going forward and will keep our common sense, conservative principles at the table while keeping us engaged throughout these negotiations. I am proud to support Speaker Boehner and my Republican colleagues in this fight and will continue to fight each and every day to cut spending, protect job creators, and give Americans the resources to make our economy prosperous again. I will not let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

President Obama's Statement on Debt Negotiations

Read the President’s statement:

Good morning, everybody.  I want to speak about the ongoing and increasingly urgent efforts to avoid default and reduce our deficit.

Right now, the House of Representatives is still trying to pass a bill that a majority of Republicans and Democrats in the Senate have already said they won’t vote for.  It’s a plan that would force us to re-live this crisis in just a few short months, holding our economy captive to Washington politics once again.  In other words, it does not solve the problem, and it has no chance of becoming law.

What’s clear now is that any solution to avoid default must be bipartisan.  It must have the support of both parties that were sent here to represent the American people -– not just one faction.  It will have to have the support of both the House and the Senate.  And there are multiple ways to resolve this problem.  Senator Reid, a Democrat, has introduced a plan in the Senate that contains cuts agreed upon by both parties.  Senator McConnell, a Republican, offered a solution that could get us through this.  There are plenty of modifications we can make to either of these plans in order to get them passed through both the House and the Senate and would allow me to sign them into law.  And today I urge Democrats and Republicans in the Senate to find common ground on a plan that can get support -- that can get support from both parties in the House –- a plan that I can sign by Tuesday.

Now, keep in mind, this is not a situation where the two parties are miles apart.  We’re in rough agreement about how much spending can be cut responsibly as a first step toward reducing our deficit.  We agree on a process where the next step is a debate in the coming months on tax reform and entitlement reform –- and I’m ready and willing to have that debate.  And if we need to put in place some kind of enforcement mechanism to hold us all accountable for making these reforms, I’ll support that too if it’s done in a smart and balanced way.

So there are plenty of ways out of this mess.  But we are almost out of time.  We need to reach a compromise by Tuesday so that our country will have the ability to pay its bills on time, as we always have -- bills that include monthly Social Security checks, veterans’ benefits and the government contracts we’ve signed with thousands of businesses.  Keep in mind, if we don’t do that, if we don’t come to an agreement, we could lose our country’s AAA credit rating, not because we didn’t have the capacity to pay our bills -- we do -- but because we didn’t have a AAA political system to match our AAA credit rating.

And make no mistake -– for those who say they oppose tax increases on anyone, a lower credit rating would result potentially in a tax increase on everyone in the form of higher interest rates on their mortgages, their car loans, their credit cards.  And that’s inexcusable.

There are a lot of crises in the world that we can’t always predict or avoid -– hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, terrorist attacks.  This isn’t one of those crises.  The power to solve this is in our hands.  And on a day when we’ve been reminded how fragile the economy already is, this is one burden we can lift ourselves.   We can end it with a simple vote –- a vote that Democrats and Republicans have been taking for decades, a vote that the leaders in Congress have taken for decades.

It’s not a vote that allows Congress to spend more money.  Raising the debt ceiling simply gives our country the ability to pay the bills that Congress has already racked up.  I want to emphasize that.  The debt ceiling does not determine how much more money we can spend, it simply authorizes us to pay the bills we already have racked up.  It gives the United States of America the ability to keep its word.

Now, on Monday night, I asked the American people to make their voice heard in this debate, and the response was overwhelming.  So please, to all the American people, keep it up.  If you want to see a bipartisan compromise -– a bill that can pass both houses of Congress and that I can sign -- let your members of Congress know.  Make a phone call.  Send an email.  Tweet.  Keep the pressure on Washington, and we can get past this.

And for my part, our administration will be continuing to work with Democrats and Republicans all weekend long until we find a solution.  The time for putting party first is over.  The time for compromise on behalf of the American people is now.  And I am confident that we can solve this problem.  I’m confident that we will solve this problem.  For all the intrigue and all the drama that’s taking place on Capitol Hill right now, I’m confident that common sense and cooler heads will prevail.

But as I said earlier, we are now running out of time.  It’s important for everybody to step up and show the leadership that the American people expect.

Thank you

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - More than 36 years later, the secret grand jury testimony of President Richard Nixon in the Watergate scandal was ordered released on Friday by a federal judge because of its significance in American history.

What lies did he tell???

Tillis gets Served with Citizens Petition

RALEIGH — Hundreds of North Carolina citizens signed an online petition and presented it to State House Speaker Thom Tillis on Wednesday demanding he rescind pay raises for his staff.

Tillis said the raises are justified. However in a statement, the organizer of the petition Doug Jackson, called it hypocritical and said Tillis misplaced his priorities.

Tillis claimed the raises boiled down to fairness.

"It would be unfair because my staff already makes less than the governor and now they would make far less. What everyone needs to understand is my staff made 25 percent less than the governor for three months until they proved that they could do a good job," said Tillis.

Tillis says he is willing to cut the new salaries by 10 percent if needed.

How about this, you take back the raises and give it two or three teachers that are losing their jobs this season..

Yet teachers and state employees have gone years with a raise, yet you give these jerks a raise after six months… I wonder what other services they were doing for you, that isn’t state approve.

Tillis claimed his staff would be 17% below that of last speaker of the house,  Hackney, however,

The News and Observer did the math and promptly reported, Tillis’ payroll is ‘10% higher’ – not 17% lower – than Hackney’s.

Tillis you are nothing but a liar

The Debt Chart, Bush Spent more than Obama

Faith in America today announced a statewide campaign

That will bring awareness about the harm caused to LGBT youth and families to the communities of every North Carolina legislator that votes to proceed with an anti-gay marriage amendment to state constitution.

The North Carolina General Assembly could decide as early as tomorrow on whether to proceed with a vote that would amend the state constitution to ban gay marriage, despite the fact that state law currently recognizes only marriages between two people of the opposite sex.

"Going forward with this vote signals that the North Carolina General Assembly embraces the immense harm that religion-based bigotry places on the lives of this state's gay and lesbian citizens," said Brent Childers, executive director of the organization.

Childers said recent studies, from the American Psychology Association (APA) and one by the Centers of Disease Control have documented a link between anti-gay marriage amendments and emotional and psychological harm to gay and lesbian individuals. In the 2008 APA studies, lead researcher, Sharon Scales Rostosky, Ph.D., at the University of Kentucky, said emotional and psychological harm was "a direct result of the negative images and messages associated with the ballot campaign and the passage of the amendment."

"These studies only document what common sense tells us," Childers said. "Placing a moral and religious stamp of disapproval on someone's very being causes immense and lasting harm to individuals and society. Women, African Americans, Native Americans and interracial couples have all been targets of this vile form of bigotry in the past when religious teaching was misused to justify prejudice and discrimination. Those historical precedents of religion-based bigotry all have been judged as immoral. Yet, a group of ill-intentioned lawmakers want North Carolina to embrace that same form of bigotry today.

Childers said he is hopeful lawmakers will refrain from bringing such harm to North Carolina communities. He said he believes the majority of legislators do not agree with using misguided religious teaching to cause harm to innocent people, especially LGBT youth and families.

"We hope a majority of legislators will decide in favor of human dignity and equality rather than using their vote to bring harm to others for potential political gain or favor. If they come down on the side of causing harm to LGBT youth and families, they will not do so with impunity."

Childers said the organization will conduct public awareness campaigns in the communities of every legislator who votes to proceed with the anti-gay marriage initiative.

"The constituents of every legislator who votes to proceed with the anti-gay marriage initiative are going to learn how these elected officials are promoting a social and religious climate of hostility and violence toward innocent people and children. We plan to reveal to parents,  business owners, church-goers and the kids in these legislators 'hometowns the heinous and immensely harmful form of bigotry and prejudice that these legislators are embracing."

Faith in America is a N.C.-based nonprofit organization which works nationally to educate the American public about religion-based bigotry, its harm to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals and its history of oppression toward other minorities in American society. Brent Childers, who himself  as an evangelical once identified with the Religious Right and embraced religion-based bigotry toward the LGBT community, serves as its executive director.

Tangerine infuse Tea-bagger Speak

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Renee Ellmers released the following statement from her office in Washington this afternoon:

"The Budget Control Act, which the House will vote on today, is a real solution to put an end to the spending-driven debt crisis and save our children and grandchildren from a bankrupt future. We must get our financial house in order and this bill will require Washington to balance its budget while preventing an economic crisis. I call on the President and Senate Leadership to allow this bill to be passed and signed into law as soon as possible."

This afternoon, Congresswoman Ellmers joined Speaker Boehner, Leader Cantor, Majority Whip McCarthy, Conference Chairman Hensarling, and Deputy Majority Whip Roskam, to speak to reporters on the debt negotiations and the Budget Control Act of 2011.

How disillusion is Ellmers, only seven months in her first term, she has lying down to a science. From Medical death panel to sucking up to the Tangerine. I can and will never truth a first term Freshman in Congress, simply because they don’t know what the hell they are doing and most of the time they are kissing to many asses.

However I ‘m sure if she loses her next election,I’m sure she will fit right in on Fox News. She already claiming Death Panel are in our future. However this funny, It’s a crime to lie to Congress, but it’s not a crime for Members of Congress to lie to the people.

Also her self-serving lies are so transparent, that she doesn’t even try to hide them by fully educating herself before she speaks.

CHAIRMAN PARKER: WOMEN'S RIGHTS VETERANS WILL FIGHT AGAIN

RALEIGH - North Carolina Democratic Party Chairman David Parker warned Republican legislators that they should expect fierce outcry from women who fought the women's rights struggles of the 20th century, only to see their gains narrowed by the passage of  HB854, the "Women's Right to Know" Act.

"Sixty-, seventy- and eighty-year-old women are ready and willing to fight the battles of their youth all over again if that's what it takes to secure their granddaughters health and reproductive freedom.  Republicans have woken a massive bloc of the voting population with this law.   The women who fought this bigotry in their twenties will do it again in their seventies; that means voting Democratic in 2012."

"This General Assembly has been merciless in their attacks on women, if it's this bill or the firing of female educators.  Pat McCrory and the Republicans cannot put the genie back in the bottle, women can vote, women can run, and they won't forget."

Parker thinks this law unfairly singles out women for government intervention in their most private health decisions.

"Show me a law that commands government counseling for men in any medical situation. I doubt a bill enforcing a waiting period for Viagra would go very far in this Republican legislature."

North Carolina Republicans have chipped away at the gains made by every popular movement of the 20th century, from civil rights to women's rights to voting rights-- and they have done it after winning an election they claimed was about jobs.

"It wasn't about jobs, it was about social control."

Republicans moves from a State Voted ID bill to local ID bills, WTF!!!

Via the Progressive Pulse,

The latest rumor making the rounds of the Legislative Building and the Tweetosphere is that Republicans are considering the certifiably treacherous step of passing a series of “local bills” to enact mandatory photo ID for voting on a county-by-county basis.

The Governor cannot veto “local bills” — which are supposed to deal with truly local matters and are certainly not supposed to be used as a subterfuge to avoid constitutional requirements for passing statewide legislation. The R’s already employed this trick to evade the Guv’s veto of legislation that would have limited access to federal student loans for community college students.

“This is clearly an ideological crusade now, not a legislative session.” said Chris Fitzsimon.

One would have to wonder if McCain had won and became the President, would these Voter ID bills ever been filed in so many state? Are these bill in response to that fact the so many new voters for the first time, came out and  voted for a African-American, that won the Presidency of the US. Since almost every Voter ID bill have been written and filed and co-sponsors by members of the GOP and The local crazy Tea-baggers..

So GOP in the NCGA couldn’t override Bev Perdue Veto of the bill, so they decide to make over 100 local voter id bills, which they knew Governor Perdue can’t do anything about. Talking about a bunch of sore-ass losers in the NCGA..

Walkout could determine abortion bill outcome

Senator Stan Bingham, you are turning your back on women across this state. Be a man and take a vote instead of running away #NCGA

Sen. Stan Bingham, R-Davidson, said he feels strongly that the bill infringes on the doctor-patient relationship. In fact, he was the lone Republican opposing the measure when it passed the Senate by a 29-20 margin. However, he didn’t rule out the possibility of walking out during Thursday’s vote. “I’d be very unhappy in having to feel like I was put in a position that I had to vote for it,” Bingham said.

Lawmakers need a three-fifths majority in order to trump any veto from the governor.  But Senate president Phil Berger, R-Rockingham, said fellow Republican Sen. Richard Stevens will be out the entire week. If both Stevens, who didn’t vote on the bill when it passed the Senate in June, and Bingham miss the override vote, Republicans would only need 29 votes.

I pointed out to Bingham that he could be the deciding vote. But Bingham reiterated that he still wasn’t sure what would happen Thursday.

Ok Folks this guy need to heard from you, even if he not your senator, Every woman in the North Carolina need to contact him.. Force him to vote. Don’t let him just walk out without voting on this bill..

Tony Perkins Admits “Same sex attraction is not choice”

“Journalists’ ‘fact-checking’ services can be just as prone to bias and factual error as the politicians they’re checking. PolitiFact analyzed former Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s statements on the origins of homosexuality. Meet the Press host David Gregory had asked: ‘Is being gay a choice?’ Pawlenty began his response by saying, ‘Well, the science in that regard is in dispute.’ PolitiFact rated that lone sentence as ‘false.’ But the ‘choice’ question is meaningless unless you also define what you mean by ‘gay.’ Same-sex attraction is not a choice, but homosexual conduct and homosexual self-identification are choices.” – Family Research Council hate group leader Tony Perkins, in a recent email.

GOP trying to sneak in House Bill 777 for a vote

Rumored that gay marriage ban constitutional amendment coming up for a vote today or tomorrow #NCGA

Is this next for the Voters of NC

#ncgov #ncga #voterid

From the RawStory

A Wisconsin woman recorded the process of getting her son an ID to vote. She discovered that the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) could refuse to issue the constitutionally-mandated ID card if the voter’s bank account did not show enough “activity.”

The clerk couldn’t explain what would happen if a resident was homeless or unemployed.

The DMV also told her that voters would be charged $28 if they didn’t check a special box to indicate the ID was for voting, effectively making the fee a poll tax.

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Renee Ellmers released the following statement this morning from her office in Washington:

“I'm happy to announce that last night, the House successfully passed H.R. 1938, the North American-Made Energy Security Act (NAMES Act). As energy prices continue to grow, American consumers continue to see their energy costs rise at the mercy of upheaval in the Middle East and lack of new drilling permits here at home."

"This bill is yet another important piece of legislation that will help businesses create jobs and lower gas prices. Specifically, it would expedite the permitting process for the Keystone XL pipeline, which would create more than 100,000 American jobs, and according to the Department of Energy, would greatly reduce our need for oil imports from the Middle East. I'm proud to have been a co-sponsor of this bill and call upon leaders in the Senate to bring it to the floor for a vote."

For more than two years, the U.S. Department of State has refused to approve the permit for the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.  The NAMES Act would require the Administration to make a decision on the permit application for the Keystone XL pipeline by November 1, 2011.

Canada supplies over 2.5 million barrels of oil per day to U.S. refineries.  Completion of the pipeline extension will increase America’s access to stable energy supplies, and nearly double the current pipeline’s capacity.

I believe this when I see it at the pumps….

McCrory is pissing his pants over the fail veto override of Voter ID Bill

“Sadly, Governor Perdue and her cohorts in the legislature have turned their backs on the wishes of the vast majority of North Carolinians and the integrity of our ballot boxes,” said McCrory, who had conducted a campaign in support of the bill.

Patty, just get over it, and move on..

Crawford thinks women are just plain stupid when it comes to Abortions

After today's vote, he explained, "I’ve always voted pro-life. And I tried to stick with my crowd with the other vote because I knew it was going to pass. But when it comes down to informing people and that kind of issue, I just felt like it was important to let people know the consequences of abortion."

Women of North Carolina, you should feel so special that there are men like Jim here who knows more about your body and your decision about abortions than you. So he can keep you safe..

Every women who truly believes that this is your own private issue, should call him and let him know.

Tillis Claims SSM Const. Ban Unlikely to be voted on this week

#SSM #equality #marriageissues #ncpol

Tillis said that the resolution would make it possible for other proposed constitutional amendments to come up this week, but not likely. “I don’t see how we can do it,” Tillis said.

Another amendment that has a lot of backing among the GOP majority is a proposal that would establish a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.

Tillis implied that as a practical matter, it would be difficult for a same-sex marriage ban constitutional amendment to come up this week. That’s because some legislators have commitments for later in the week or weekend and wouldn’t be available to vote on the House or Senate floor.

I don’t trust this jerk, as far as I could throw him. I believe this amendment would be sneak in, so they don’t have to heard the LGBT community till after the fact. To avoid the two Marriage Rally Plan for August and September.

Constitutional amendments require a three-fifths vote of the members of both chambers in order to go to the voters for ratification. That means a proposed constitutional amendment must get 72 of the 120 members of the House and 30 members of the 50 senators.

NCGA bills 777 and 106

Your legislators are in Raleigh RIGHT NOW and they want to hear from YOU on how they should vote on HB 777/SB 106, the anti-LGBT constitutional amendment.

This could be your last chance to make your voice heard in opposition to this discriminatory legislation. Now, more than ever, you must tell your legislators to "JUST SAY NO!"

At this very moment, we're mobilizing LGBT rights supporters from all over the state to call in, write in, and get in contact with their legislators to make it very clear that they oppose any attempt to write discrimination into our state's founding document...and we vote.  Here's how you can join them in ACTING RIGHT NOW:

1) E-mail your legislators! We've made it easy. Let them know in your own words that you oppose efforts to write discrimination into our state constitution and, most importantly, tell them why they should be opposed to House Bill 777 / Senate Bill 106:

The anti-LGBT amendment causes real harm. Couples will be denied even the most basic protections.

The anti-LGBT amendment is bad for business. It harms businesses' right to provide competitive benefits & signals to employers that our state does not welcome diversity.

The anti-LGBT amendment is a distraction from the voters' priorities. We want legislators to tackle jobs and the economy, not to advance a divisive social agenda.

Marriage is already denied same-sex couples by state law. This doesn't change marriage. It attacks LGBT North Carolinians and puts their basic rights up for a vote.

Your legislators need to know how these bills will hurt their constituents, and there's no better person than you to tell them!

2) Call your legislators! If you don't already have their numbers on speed dial, click here to look up the contact information for your NC representative and senator. Calling your legislator is super easy and low stress. All you need to do is say, "My name is _____ and I'm a constituent. I oppose House Bill 777 [for your representative] / Senate Bill 106 [for your senator] because it's bad for families, bad for business, bad for the economy, and bad for my state. Thank you." It's that simple!

3) Pass it on! Now that you've taken action, let your friends know that they need to ACT NOW too! Forward this e-mail to as many friends, family, neighbors, co-workers as you can to encourage them to get involved. You can also re-tweet our posts on Twitter, and re-post our updates on Facebook to let everyone know what's up with our collective #equalityaction!

In the meantime, we'll keep you updated throughout the week on what's happening in Raleigh.

Stay tuned for news and what we're hearing from legislators on the inside by following the action on Twitter at the hashtag: #equalityaction.

Thank-you for your support of Equality,

Jen Jones

The Republicans' social agenda has, with this bill, invaded a woman's life

On the abortion override, the House voted 72-47 in favor of a bill requiring a woman to have an ultrasound of the fetus, consider an offer to see the shape and hear a heartbeat in her uterus, receive state-mandated counseling, and wait 24 hours before an abortion.

"The intent is to give women the information they need," said sponsor Rep. Ruth Samuelson, R-Mecklenburg. "Large numbers of women want this bill."

Women don’t need the Damn Government involve in this matter.

However Ruth, thinks she knows what is best for the women whom she think is beneath her in life.

The new restrictions would keep abortions legal and make them safer than before by requiring doctors and clinics to have insurance and backup plans, Samuelson said.

Ruth, please please, tell these women just how making them wait a day and see an ultrasound and the heart beat makes Abortions safer. Please bestow you almighty knowledge on these poor unfortunate souls, in pain, in need

More House Reps speak up,

Democrats argued the restrictions were less about safety and full information than the Republican majority serving the political priorities of its supporters.

"It's a sad day for the women of North Carolina," said Rep. Deborah Ross, D-Wake.

Rep. Alma Adams, D-Guilford, said the General Assembly would never pass a law that would place such restrictions on a procedure for men.

"I was created from the womb of my mother just like every person here, and my gender should not determine whether I or not I can make a decision what I could do with my body," Adams said.

"It's a place the state has no right to be, constitutionally or medically," said Rep. Rick Glazier, D-Cumberland.

however ladies you have this putz to thanks.

Rep. Jim Crawford, D-Granville, who also sided with Republicans on the budget and other override votes this week, cast the deciding vote on the abortion bill. He switched his "no" vote from last month to a "yes" vote on Tuesday's override.

Did he commit Fraud on the Floor of the NC House????

The GOP just talked about their fear of voter fraud and yet their Majority Leader just participated in fraud. Wow #NCGA

NCvoters would be disappointed2hear Stam wants 2 operate Raleigh like Wash#ncga Stam - such amove is "standard procedure n Wash"

Interesting that Rep. Stam is now looking to Washington for guidance on how to do things. #ncga

ADDRESS BY THE PRESIDENT TO THE NATION

THE WHITE HOUSE

Office of the Press Secretary

______________________________________

For Immediate Release                              July 25, 2011

ADDRESS BY THE PRESIDENT TO THE NATION

East Room

9:01 P.M. EDT

THE PRESIDENT:  Good evening.  Tonight, I want to talk about the debate we’ve been having in Washington over the national debt -- a debate that directly affects the lives of all Americans.

For the last decade, we’ve spent more money than we take in.  In the year 2000, the government had a budget surplus.  But instead of using it to pay off our debt, the money was spent on trillions of dollars in new tax cuts, while two wars and an expensive prescription drug program were simply added to our nation’s credit card.

As a result, the deficit was on track to top $1 trillion the year I took office.  To make matters worse, the recession meant that there was less money coming in, and it required us to spend even more -– on tax cuts for middle-class families to spur the economy; on unemployment insurance; on aid to states so we could prevent more teachers and firefighters and police officers from being laid off.  These emergency steps also added to the deficit.

Now, every family knows that a little credit card debt is manageable.  But if we stay on the current path, our growing debt could cost us jobs and do serious damage to the economy.  More of our tax dollars will go toward paying off the interest on our loans.  Businesses will be less likely to open up shop and hire workers in a country that can’t balance its books.  Interest rates could climb for everyone who borrows money -– the homeowner with a mortgage, the student with a college loan, the corner store that wants to expand.  And we won’t have enough money to make job-creating investments in things like education and infrastructure, or pay for vital programs like Medicare and Medicaid.

Obama urges Congress to reach deal on debt ceiling

President Obama said in a prime-time speech Monday night that, unless Congress agrees quickly to a long-term increase in the federal debt ceiling, "we would risk sparking a deep economic crisis, this one caused almost entirely by Washington." He asked Americans to urge their lawmakers in Congress to strike a deal on the issue. He said he would not agree to a short-term increase, as proposed by House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio), saying it amounted to "kicking the can down the road." He added: "We can't allow the American people to become collateral damage to Washington's political warfare."

12 week tour across country comes as new poll shows increasing acceptance, more work to be done

Busviews

7/25/2011

Washington – The Human Rights Campaign – the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization – today announced “On the Road to Equality,” a nationwide bus tour to spread the message of equality by educating the American public and empowering LGBT people to become advocates for themselves and their families. The 12 week tour will travel to 17 cities in 11 states and D.C., with particular emphasis on the Midwest and South where there are limited legal protections for LGBT people and living openly and honestly can be difficult. Events will include everything from educational seminars on legal documents for families to community forums about family acceptance to participating in the University of Nebraska’s “Big Red Welcome.”

“We are in the midst of a cultural tipping point on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues and our job is to push the scale as far and as fast as we can toward fairness,” said HRC President Joe Solmonese. “The tour will serve as a powerful visibility tool and support the work of creating real and lasting change in these communities.”

Today HRC also released a nationwide poll that found Americans widely support LGBT equality issues but more work remains to be done – particularly in the South and Midwest where support lags other regions.  The poll shows support for equal marriage at 51 percent (43 percent in the Midwest and South), in line with other national polls on the issue. Support fornon-discrimination protections for LGBT people in employment, housing and public accommodations is strong nationally at 79 percent, as is support for protections against bullying in schools at 73 percent. Respondents also overwhelmingly say anti-gay discrimination is a problem (79 percent) and anti-transgender discrimination is a problem (74 percent).

Aside from policy questions, 57 percent of respondents say they would not be bothered if their child or grandchild was gay.  Seventy-seven percent of men say they could be close friends with a gay man and 81 percent of women say they could be close friends with a lesbian.  Overall, 64 percent say they could be close friends with someone who is transgender.  Relating to the current debate over so-called “pray the gay away” therapies, only 24 percent of people think gay people can be made straight through psychotherapy or prayer. Full poll results can be found online at http://www.hrc.org/bustour/media.html.

Could this Happen in NC???

Via The Raw Story,

On May 25, Walker signed the voter photo ID bill which mandates voters present a driver's license, state ID, military ID, passport, naturalization papers or tribal ID before casting their ballots.

Critics claim that the new voting restrictions disenfranchise minorities, students, the poor and the elderly -- all groups who tend to vote Democratic.

A practice run earlier this month found that nearly 20 percent of voters coming to the polls did not have a photo ID with them.

Democratic Wisconsin state Rep. Andy Jorgensen told The Associated Press that Walker appeared to be targeting Democratic districts with his decision to shut down 10 Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) offices.

If the house overrides Perdue Veto of the Voter ID Act, will the GOP Legislature move to close DMV too..Like there counter parts in other states???

Ellmers Slams Senate's Rejection of Cut, Cap and Balance

as North Carolina Unemployment Rate Rises to 9.9 %

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Renee Ellmers released the following statement from her office in Washington this afternoon:

"Today we received another example of how dire our economic crisis is. This morning, the NC Employment Security Commission announced that North Carolina's unemployment rate has risen to 9.9 percent, even higher than the national average. These figures are deeply disheartening and show that our economic situation is not getting the full attention it deserves. People are struggling to make ends meet and worrying as to whether their business will be the next to hand out pink slips. Small businesses are seeing their budgets busted by high energy costs and uncertainty that currently exist in the market due to the threat of higher taxes, inflation, and government overreach. When will President Obama and Governor Purdue wake up and realize that their policies have failed and are only causing more harm to our economy?"

"Here in Washington, we successfully passed the Cut, Cap and Balance Act on Tuesday, which I was pleased to co-sponsor. The Cut, Cap and Balance Act is a constitutional, permanent solution to put an end to the spending-driven debt crisis and save our children and grandchildren from a bankrupt future. But this morning, the Senate rejected this important law, preferring instead to continue to put off our financial problems as they have for the past three years. This is not only irresponsible, but even more, it is hurting the American people. 'Where are the jobs?' is not a skewed question. After today's unemployment report, it continues to be a very real question."

This morning, the North Carolina Employment Security Commission released the latest unemployment figures, showing that North Carolina’s unemployment rate rose to 9.9 percent in June after holding steady at 9.7 percent the previous three months. Some 446,377 North Carolinians were unemployed last month, while total nonfarm employment stood at more than 4.05 million.

GOP Redistricting Process

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 25, 2011

Contact:  Adriadn Ortega, (919) 821-2777, ext. 302

GOP REDISTRICTING PROCESS TRANSPARENT?  (Yeah, transparently bogus).

RALEIGH - North Carolina Democratic Party Chairman David Parker reacted to NCGOP Chairman Hayes attacks on the Democratic Party's alternative maps today:

"Republicans don't own the public redistricting hearings that were held" said Chairman Parker. "The Democratic maps reflect what Democratic Senators learned at those hearings.

"Senator McKissick, who issued alternative maps today, sat next to Senator Rucho throughout the hearings.  The difference is that  McKissick appears to have been listening and his maps reflect the real communities they represent."

"Meanwhile, the GOP maps were drawn by a highly paid Republican consultant so secret that we only learned his name last week.  As a public employee, paid by taxpayers, why wasn't Tom Hoffler made available to the public or press?"

"The maps released today by Democratic Senators Stein and McKissick are more compact and politically competitive.   They are fair and legal.  The GOP maps look like splattered bugs on Bob Rucho's windshield.  They seem to have sought inspiration everywhere but the wishes of real voters."

Douchebag Tillis on S781

House Speaker Thom Tillis (R-Mecklenburg) released the following statement today concerning the veto override of Senate Bill 781:

“Today, the North Carolina House took a bold step for job creation by overriding the Governor’s veto of Senate Bill 781, the Regulatory Reform bill. This legislation was the product of multiple public meetings throughout the state, during which House and Senate members heard from small business owners about the critical need to reform burdensome state regulations. This bill makes North Carolina more business-friendly, and immediately makes our state more competitive when attracting new businesses. I applaud the bipartisan majority of House members who supported this job-creating measure today.”

No jobs will be created but the environment will be destroy, thanks for nothing Owens, you effing traitor.

Today House has now overridden 2

Stock up on clean air & water. S781, killing environmental regulations, just became law when veto was overridden. #ncga #ncpol

Going into the..._1311613572649

Is this what they fear, that DOJ will take up the case on redistricting if they debates the illegality of these maps..

I believe that these maps will be challenge in the courts, since they are stacking the deck in the GOP favor..

I also wonder who told him that it would be a bad idea, I bet it was Tillis!

NY Douchebag Rev Jason McGuire

Rev. Jason McGuire, with the New Yorkers For Constitutional Freedoms filed suit to overturn same-sex marriage. Since because they are nothing betterbrowmmcguire to do, but to be a bunch of dickheads.

McGuire claims that the state Senate, in adopting the legislation, violated the state’s Open Meetings Law by closing off the Senate galleries and lobby; and by holding closed door meetings with Mayor Bloomberg and others who backed the law.The group also claims, among other things, that Gov. Cuomo and the Senate ignored the constitutionally mandated three-day waiting period before a bill can be acted upon and that lawmakers approved the legislation in exchange for campaign contributions from Bloomberg and other high profile "Wall Street financiers."
"It is unfortunate that state senators chose to protect their personal interests, rather than the people they were elected to represent. Some of the players may have changed, but it looks like same old Albany game. It is time the curtain be pulled back and the disinfecting light of good government shine upon the Cuomo Administration and our State Legislature," McGuire said in a press release.

So how much will NOM being giving to this group to help with legal cost, also will Sen. Ruben Diaz be a star witness for them??

Sen. Ruben Diaz, will try to get NY’s SSM Annulled..

senator_ruben_diazSen. Ruben Diaz promised to annul all of New York's same-sex marriages

Thousands of protesters rallied in several cities around the state, a signal that the long fight for recognition may not be over just yet. State Sen. Ruben Diaz, a minister who was the sole Democrat to vote against gay marriage when the Legislature approved it, told a crowd near the United Nations that he and other opponents would try to get Sunday’s marriages annulled, saying judges broke the law by waiving the 24-hour waiting period without a good reason. “We’re going to show them next week that everything they did today was illegal,” he said, speaking in Spanish.

Talking about a sore loser, I bet his law suit will be backed by NOM..

The Blame Game; lack of thought,

Can you believe this one,

Wrong Kind of Numbers

But North Carolina appeared this weekend on another “Top 10″ list. And no, it wasn’t Letterman.  No, according to the good folks at AlterNet, NC is among The 10 Craziest State Legislatures In America.  Can you just feel your pride swelling?

This dubious distinction comes right on the heels of North Carolina being listed not once, not twice, but three times on the top 14 list of The Worst Bills of 2011 by the Progressive States Network. When I speak to colleagues in other states, the well-meaning, yet incredibly depressing, phrase that comes up most often is “Well, at least you’re in North Carolina.”

How nice we are being the laughing stock of the country, thanks to Tillis and Berger and a few select others in the NCGA.. How one might ask, well Tillis wild claims that his office payroll was lower then the last speaker of the house. I wonder was this before are after 27% raises that were handed out to his staff, while state employee haven’t been given a raise in 3 or more years. On the other side of the building we have Berger who is trying to create a district for his son..

Then again could it be the lost of teachers over a damn penny tax..

Then there this, lets cut the Capital Police budget so we can make State building less secure, while we take that money and add more security the to the NCGA to keep those citizens out that don’t like what we doing. We just can’t work with these citizens telling us how to do our jobs from the gallery or standing up to us on the house floor.

Tell you want I really love is hos these idiots use 9/11 for everything and the children.

Several disruptions by protesters this year in the House chamber highlighted security challenges, Brock said Friday. A legislative complex with largely unfettered access during normal business hours is not responsible for citizens and school groups that visit regularly, Brock said.

Yet these are same ignoramus, that cut the school budgets so much that I’m sure these types of school educational field trip will be history..

Maggie Gallagher on SSM vs. Interracial Marriage

Says Maggie: MaggieSuck4

“Gay marriage elites are saying there is no possible reason to oppose gay marriage except bigotry, and that opposition to gay marriage is like opposition to interracial marriage.  Gay right activists, who feel a shared sense of discrimination with African Americans are responding by heaping hatred on anyone who stands up for [traditional] marriage.  The idea that America could be a country in which it is considered hateful or ugly to say ‘to make a marriage you need a husband and wife, because kids long for a mom and a dad’ … I will not volunteer to live in that country.”

Maggie, Maggie please get back on your meds, do now before you blow a gasket.  For Maggie I bet your counter partners back in the day said the Same about interracial marriages, that its was God will to keep the races apart, and that he did this by language and location.

The times are changing, so either get with the program or keep  your over sized bigotry at home where it belongs.

NOM send mailer

NOM’s mailers compare the senators to Benedict Arnold, another New Yorker from history who sold his principles for cash. Gen. Benedict Arnold received 6,000 British Pounds Sterling for plotting to surrender Fort West Point to the British.

The mailers also remind voters of key facts about the Senators. For example:

· Senator Mark Grisanti ran for office on a traditional marriage platform, and solicited and accepted a $4,000 campaign contribution from NOM.
· Senator James Alesi has said publicly, “It’s not our job to be moral.”
· Senator Carl Kruger, who is under indictment for allegedly taking $1 million in bribes in exchange for political favors, said of his vote, “What we are about to do is redefine what the American family is.”

Nom is just piss, Cause NY voted to allow SSM to happen, which Start on 7/24/2011, right after midnight..

Fox News get it wrong- or was it a straight out lie..

Friday night on Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor, guest host Laura Ingraham said the terror attacks in Norway that killed of at least 92 people appeared “to be the work, once again, of Muslim extremists.”

Although it was reported by one terrorism analyst that a jihadist group claimed responsibility for the attack, it was later revealed that the attack was carried out by a 32-year-old conservative Christian who was strongly opposed to multiculturalism and Islam.

Watch video, clipped by the liberal watchdog group Media Matters, below:

Sorry Gray Newman, Voting Rights can be taken away, so in way

One fact that is lost on many people who point out all the things you have to have an ID to do is that voting is a right, not a privilege. Buying alcohol, driving, flying and even cashing checks are privileges with no guarantee that you get to do them.

Voting is a right that is guaranteed by our national and state constitutions. Over 400,000 voters in North Carolina do not have state-issued IDs, most of them poor and/or elderly. Do we really want to deny these people their constitutionally guaranteed rights?

Gray Newman

This is one of many so-called constitutions that is striped from those whom have been convicted of a felony. most of the time for life.

From Wikipedia.org

Prisoner voting rights is a state issue, so the laws are different from state to state. Some states allow only individuals on probation and ex-felons to vote. Others allow individuals on parole, probation and ex-felons to vote. As of July 2007, fourteen states, eleven of them in the South, ban anyone with a felony conviction from voting for life, even after the person has served the sentence, while only two states, Maine and Vermont, allow incarcerated individuals to vote.

According to the Sentencing Project, 5.3 million Americans are denied the right to vote because of a felony conviction ("felony disenfranchisement"). The number of people disenfranchised amounts to approximately 2.42% of the otherwise-eligible voting population.[citation needed] This is in sharp contrast to European nations, like Norway, which allow ex-felons to vote after serving sentences and in some cases allow prisoners to vote. Prisoners have been allowed to vote in Canada since 2002.

The United States has a higher proportion of its population in prison than any other Western nation, and more than Russia or China. The dramatic rise in the rate of incarceration in the United States, a 500% increase from the 1970s to the 1990s due to criminalization of certain behaviors, strict sentencing guidelines and changes in philosophy, has vastly increased the number of people disfranchised because of the felon provisions. Given the prison populations, the effects have been most disadvantageous for minority and poor communities.

These are the true disenfranchisement.

Bill O’Reilly: dumbest man alive, Maybe!

Via Pandagon.net,

I don't say that lightly; there are many dumbasses in the world.  But this clip really puts O'Reilly over the top.  He makes, in quick order, three mind-boggling claims:

1) That the Institute of Medicine recommended that the HHS use tax dollars to pay for every woman's birth control.

2) That free birth control won't reduce unwanted pregnancy rates, because the reason women get pregnant is they're "blasted" and don't use birth control.

3) The third claim is implicit, and it's that the birth control that's under discussion---he specifically mentions the pill---requires you to remember to use it while you're having the kind of wild, drunken sex O'Reilly has failed to invite into his life with loofah references.  If he can't get any, ladies, neither can you!

The police said they did not know if the man, identified by the Norwegian media as Anders Behring Breivik, was part of a larger conspiracy. He is being questioned under the country’s terrorism laws, police said, and is cooperating with the investigation of the attacks, the deadliest on Norwegian soil since World War II. “We are not sure whether he was alone or had help,” a police official, Roger Andresen, said at a televised news conference, adding: “What we know is that he is right-wing and a Christian fundamentalist.” So far Mr. Breivik has not been linked to any anti-jihadist groups, he said.

I guess it time to start bugging those churches and profiling Christians now..

Today, we have taken the final major step toward ending the discriminatory ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ law that undermines our military readiness and violates American principles of fairness and equality. In accordance with the legislation that I signed into law last December, I have certified and notified Congress that the requirements for repeal have been met. ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ will end, once and for all, in 60 days—on September 20, 2011.

As Commander in Chief, I have always been confident that our dedicated men and women in uniform would transition to a new policy in an orderly manner that preserves unit cohesion, recruitment, retention and military effectiveness. Today’s action follows extensive training of our military personnel and certification by Secretary Panetta and Admiral Mullen that our military is ready for repeal. As of September 20th, service members will no longer be forced to hide who they are in order to serve our country. Our military will no longer be deprived of the talents and skills of patriotic Americans just because they happen to be gay or lesbian.

I want to commend our civilian and military leadership for moving forward in the careful and deliberate manner that this change requires, especially with our nation at war. I want to thank all our men and women in uniform, including those who are gay or lesbian, for their professionalism and patriotism during this transition. Every American can be proud that our extraordinary troops and their families, like earlier generations that have adapted to other changes, will only grow stronger and remain the best fighting force in the world and a reflection of the values of justice and equality that the define us as Americans.

Lawmakers' security expands as Capitol Police cut

Andrew Brock

Sen. Andrew Brock, R-Davie, said recent protests that interrupted House proceedings reinforce the need for upgraded security to protect lawmakers, staff and visitors alike.

"If you compare our building to other government buildings around, where they have a photo identification system, take your picture, put it on a sticker (and) visitors wear a badge, we don't have that here," Brock said.

Really, people walk  in and out the Nature and NC museum without id everyday, with out be search…

Brock is just carrying the party idiocy ideology. Which has been proven they only care about themselves.True they should have full time protection, that is if they were a full time Legislators, which they are not. The Capital police protect those what are full time in Raleigh..

Miseem had this to say, Let's see. Cut State Capitol police by 2 million, cutting 20 jobs. Add 3 million to legislative "protection". Wonder who will get the contracts and how many positions it will take.

However I do agree with ProudBlackSingleMother, So they want to restrict access to the building to keep the minions out? Sounds like a scam to me... they should not get that 2mil... it should be returned to the citizens that actually pay taxes.

That is it they want to restrict who can sit and watch, they want to keep the watch dogs out of the galleries.. They want to keep the citizens of NC in the dark.. I sure Tillis would love to Block Rev. Barber from the Gallery…
