Does It Matter?

My parents asked me if I am gay
I said, "Does it matter?"
They said, "No, not really."
I told them, "Yes."
They said, "Get out of our lives."
I guess it mattered.
My boss asked me if I am gay.
I said, "Does it matter?"
He said, "No, not really."
I told him, "Yes."
He said, "You're fired, faggot."
I guess it mattered.
My friend asked me if I am gay.
I said, "Does it matter?"
He said, "No, not really."
I told him, "Yes."
He said, "Don't call me your friend."
I guess it mattered.
My partner asked, "Do you love me?"
I said, "Does it matter?"
He said, "Yes."
I told him, "I love you."
He said, "Let me hold you in my arms."
For the first time in my life something matters.
My God asked, "Do you love yourself?"
I said, "Does it matter?"
He said, "Yes."
I asked, "How can I love myself? I am gay."
He said, "That's the way I made you."
Nothing again will ever matter.

NCGA Great Nipple ban of 2013

Yes there is a bill in the NCGA to ban all public display of a woman’s Nipple.

so why are the female nipple to be banned,

bma-nip-rot-braun

While the men can show off theirs anytime they like.

HPIM0771

why are the men of NCGA afraid of the nipples of women??

images

The thing about House Bill 34, however, is that it will only apply to the nipples of women, and women will be the only ones facing a Class H felony — that’s right, felony — if taking their top off is construed as intended to sexually gratify their audience.

First off, women’s breasts are not sex organs. Period. Scientifically, biblically, biologically and legally, they produce milk for misguided legislators and all their constituents as babies. Consult your textbooks and your Bibles — that’s what they’re there for.

Coke Cola sues to block recycling of their plastic

This is a forward email post.
Coca-Cola, the world's largest beverage company, is suing to crush the world's best recycling program.
When a state government in Australia considered creating a 10-cent refund on recycling plastic bottles, Coca-Cola poured money into a misleading campaign to oppose the plan. Then, when common sense won out and the plan passed, Coke sued the government to stop the program.
Coca-Cola runs similar campaigns all over the world. We can only convince Coke to back off from its ridiculous anti-environmental lobbying by raising a global outcry every time it tries to quietly fight recycling programs at the national or local level.
Tell Coca-Cola to drop this dangerous lawsuit and stop trying to block recycling programs.
When plastics aren't recycled, they often end up in the ocean, where they devastate marine wildlife. Seabirds mistake pieces of colored plastic bottles for food and feed them to their chicks, who can no longer ingest food. Baby seabirds are literally starving to death with full stomachs.
Coca-Cola sells nearly 2 billion bottles every day, and if these bottles aren't recycled, that's a totally unsustainable level of pollution -- there are already Texas-sized islands of unrecycled plastics Pacific. If Coke wants to get serious about sustainability, it needs to start supporting recycling programs, not suing to stop them.
Click here to speak out against Coke's reckless anti-recycling lawsuit.
Coke says it supports recycling, and it even has a whole website to advertise how much it cares. But all over the world, Coca-Cola opposes public programs that encourage people to recycle plastic bottles.
The recycling program Coke is suing over, which is called a "container deposit scheme," or a "bottle bill" in the United States, won't cost Coca-Cola anything. Instead, consumers pay an extra ten cents for each bottle, which they can get back by recycling the used container. Coke claims the program is a tax that hurts its sales, but container deposit programs have been implemented in 44 countries and states, and studies have shown that there's no evidence for Coke's argument. Coca-Cola's crusade against recycling is just knee-jerk anti-environmentalism -- and the consequences are massive.
We know that container deposit programs are the single most effective way to get more people to recycle. In some areas, more than 90 percent of bottles are recycled when it's implemented. The Australian program Coke is suing to stop has already encouraged people to recycle more than 35 million containers since implementation a year ago, doubling previous levels of recycling.
Click here to stand up for the environment and sign our petition to Coke.

Shades of Pride presents EXPRESS YOURSELF!

- the theme for the 4th annual Pride weekend, July 25 - 28, 2013 to be held at the Durham Convention Center, Durham, NC.
We need to hear from you! The Founding Board Members of Shades of Pride first met in the Lifestyle Center of Whole Foods on November 9th, 2009 and in January, 2010, Shades of Pride was incorporated. Six months later, the agency delivered the inaugural Pride weekend at the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley. The first event was such a success, and the experiences so welcoming that we made this host hotel our home for 2011 and 2012. For 2013, we will deliver a new experience - Durham, NC and the MANY things that this great city has to offer!

Durham, the town born of a railroad depot rebuffed elsewhere and nurtured by an industry launched in the wreckage of war has evolved into a diverse city where remembering those historical roots has become a signature of civic pride. Durham today encompasses much of The Research Triangle Park – the leading and largest high technology research and science park in North America; Durham has gained international recognition for its food scene, and it preserves its natural beauty through dozens of parks, waterways, state recreation areas, and more. As a colorful, creative, and welcoming community, Durham is now known as the place where great things happen (Durham Preservation, 2012).

We wish to share and invite you to partake of the following opportunities:

Shades of Pride is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency formed to create opportunities to acknowledge, celebrate and include the diversity of North Carolina’s minority LGBTQ community through events open to all. The agency also works to deliver programs that increase awareness, prevention and control of HIV/AIDS, diabetes, breast and prostate cancer and other health disparities affecting all minority populations.
We believe that the effective delivery of these objectives relies on collaboration with all communities, representatives of public and private sectors and welcome partnerships in this effort.
Sincerely and with deepest gratitude,
Akil

NC NAACP Once Again Urges Senators Burr and Hagan to Help End Historic Exclusion of African American Judges to US District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

21 February 2013

For More Information:              Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, President, 919-394-8137

Mrs. Amina J. Turner, Executive Director, 919-682-4700

The NC NAACP once again urges Senators Burr and Hagan to help put an end to the historic exclusion of African American judges from the US District Court for the Eastern District in North Carolina with the pending appointment by the President. There has never been, in our history, a African American Judge on the bench in US District Court for the Eastern District of NC. The NC NAACP issued a letter to the Senators on October 25, 2011 urging the Senators to do the same. And on January 23, 2013 we wrote a private letter to the Senators, this time requesting a meeting to discuss the issue further. Senator Hagan has responded. However we are respectfully awaiting a response from Senator Burr's office to schedule a meeting. We are now writing Senator Burr publicly with hopes that he will take the time to meet with civil rights leaders representing many of his constituents in NC before any decisions are made.

    John McNeil Coming Home

Statement by Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, II, NC NAACP President, on the Release of John McNeil

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    12 February 2013

For More Information:       Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, President, 919-394-8137

Mrs. Amina J. Turner, Executive Director, 919-682-4700

On the eve of Lent, and the 104th anniversary of the founding of the NAACP, which began as an organization fighting against the false and unjust convictions of African-American men, the Georgia criminal justice system has engaged in a kind of partial repentance.

John McNeil was wrongfully convicted nearly six years ago. Two white police officers and a white eye witness testified he acted in self-defense against an aggressor on his own property. His livelihood was taken away. A Georgia Superior Court ruled that there were substantial judicial errors in his original trial, so much so that the judge granted John's petition for habeas corpus. He was torn from his two young sons during their formative years. His faithful and courageous wife was laid to rest just two days ago. She fought until her last breath for his freedom. After all this, John was offered a plea to a lesser charge today, which enabled him to walk out of prison.

While John pleaded to a lesser charge, the criminal justice system in Georgia and America still remains guilty of the greater charge of continuing disparities and inequities in the sentencing, convictions and imprisonment of African-Americans, minorities and poor whites. So while we are happy that John is free, we remain ever committed to continue the work of making our judicial system fair for all.

The NAACP does not endorse violence, and none of us, especially John and his family, are happy about the loss of life, and we pray for the Epps family. Though we would have rather John been exonerated based on self-defense, we are thankful that he is able to return home, be with his two sons and start his life over.
