Rep. Jon Hardister Announces Committee Assignments

Wednesday, January 28th, 2015

Raleigh, NC - Rep. Jon Hardister (R - Guilford) has been appointed to serve on seven committees in the 2015-16 session of the NC General Assembly. He will serve as chair of two of those committees.

Hardister's committee assignments are as follows:

ABC Committee - Chair

Appropriations Capital Subcommittee - Chair

Banking Committee

Education Committee

Elections Committee

Judiciary-1 Committee

Transportation Committee

"It will be a privilege to serve on each of these committees," Hardister said. "I am honored by the opportunity to chair two committees in the current legislative session. As always, my focus will be on supporting the passage of sound legislative policy."

In addition to receiving his committee assignments, Hardister re-hired Jayne Nelson to serve as his legislative assistant. Hardister also hired Logan Martin, a recent graduate of UNC-Greensboro, to serve as his legislative research assistant. 

"Our conservative majority in the state legislature will continue working to improve the overall state of affairs in North Carolina," Hardister said. "We will work to enhance our economy; strengthen public education; improve our transportation system; and ensure that tax dollars are spent responsibly."

The 2015 legislative session convened on Wednesday, January 14th and is expected to last through June of this year.
