Ex-police officer pleads guilty to 140 sex charges

HARRODSBURG, Ky. (AP) - A 1-time Harrodsburg police officer has pleaded guilty to more than 140 counts of rape, sodomy and sexual abuse.
In an agreement with prosecutors, 31-year-old Jason Elder will serve three years in prison, enroll in and complete a sex offender treatment program and serve 85% of his sentence before becoming parole eligible. He entered the plea Friday morning in Mercer Circuit Court.
Elder will have to register as a sex offender. All of the charges involved one girl, who was 14 at the time, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported (http://bit.ly/xiXMHj).
