More Elected Officials Banning Cameras, video and audio at Town Hall meetings.

Carlos Miller of Photography isn’t crime reports the following,

As we head into the insanity of the election season, we are bound to hear more stories of politicians banning cameras from town hall meetings out of fear they might stick their foot in their mouth and be exposed on Youtube for the fools that they are.

And lately, it seems as if it is the GOP/Tea-baggers doing all the banning.

Court Rules Republicans Who Confiscate Cameras At Town Halls Are Violating 1st Amendment.

He also listed other stories that might be of interest.

Republicans

Democrats

Carlos  does a excellence job reporting this type of 1st Amendment abuse by Elected Official, TSA agents, and Members of law enforcement..

Remember if you film a crime, you can give up the video and photos freely, but the cops can’t take them without a warrant.. Educate yourself on this matter.

Finally someone tells/stands up to the Tea-party

Rep. Carson stands by tea party racism blast

A spokesman for Democratic Rep. Andre Carson said the Indiana representative and member of the Congressional Black Caucus is not backing down from comments he made previously, when he said members of the tea party movement on Capitol Hill would like to see African Americans "hanging on a tree."

You go Carson, tell it like it is.. He also add the following,

"Some of these folks in Congress would love to see us as second class citizens. Some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me ... hanging on a tree," Carson said according to the audio.

It is true, these baggers want nothing more than to bring back slavery.. Tea-party was born out of the election of a African-American to the highest office in the land, President of the US. They are piss that there is a black man in the Whitehouse.

Letter From HRC to the Citizens of NC

We only have two weeks left until the North Carolina General Assembly votes on the anti-LGBT marriage amendment, House Bill 777 and Senate Bill 106. Join HRC and help mobilize constituents in key districts to contact their legislators and tell them to vote "NO" on writing discrimination into North Carolina's constitution.

  • Business owners – If you own a business or know someone who does, we need your voice now! The two bills up for a vote seek to amend our state constitution in ways that would damage our state's ability to attract and retain the best and the brightest.

The Body Shop, a global company with a headquarters in Wake Forest, has advised lawmakers in a letter that "...this bill (SB 106) ultimately would have long-term detrimental effects to North Carolina's economy - not only could it keep businesses from relocating to North Carolina, but it may lead to the exodus of businesses..."

If you own a business, sign onto a public letter with other businesses and civic leaders. Be sure ask others you know who are also business owners to sign onto the letter.

  • Rally – HRC, Equality North Carolina and a coalition of pro-equality organizations will be convening at the state legislature on the day of the vote, Tuesday, September 13. The rally will be held to urge legislators to oppose House Bill 777 and Senate Bill 106. For more information about the rally, click here.
  • Phonebanks – Volunteer at one of our in-person phonebanks in Raleigh, Greensboro, Asheville, and Pinehurst. Volunteer today! If you're not able to join us at one of our in-person phonebanks, we've made it easy for you to help from your home, your office or anywhere in the state through our virtual phonebanks. Sign up today!

Sincerely,

Marty Rouse

P.S. If you haven't already done so, or even if you have, email your legislators today and tell them to defeat these harmful measures in September!

Michele don’t like the Illegal Aliens babies, whom are US Citizens..

From the Think Progress,

Late last week at a campaign stop in South Carolina, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) revived a debunked conservative talking point about so-called “anchor babies” — a derogatory term for the American-born children of undocumented immigrants who are full citizens under the 14th Amendment.

But Bachmann, who professes to revere the Constitution, suggested that these American citizens with foreign parents are somehow here “illegally” and that the “anchor baby” problem should be dealt with through legislation:

Bachmann, who was also asked about her position on illegal immigration, told the audience she thinks it is possible through legislation to stop the “anchor baby” problem of children born to mothers living illegally in the United States. When that happens she said, “A whole new set of implications arise for the United States. I do not believe that the American taxpayer should be paying benefits to people who are in the United States illegally.”

Does she not know how many of these “anchor Babies” are no longer babies but now are legal US Voters.. That she is telling these citizens you are not worth anything, that you are not a true US Citizens.. These are not the qualities that we seek in a President..

Her bigotry and hatred of so many US citizens is showing day after day..

She even co-sponsored a very unconstitutional bill call the Birthright Citizenship Act

The 14th Amendment provides that “[a]ll persons born or naturalized in the United States . . . are citizens of the United States,” with a narrow exception for children of ambassadors and other people who aren’t subject to U.S. law.

Bachmann’s bill openly defies this constitutional guarantee by declaring that the children of undocumented immigrants no longer enjoy birthright citizenship.

Michele must go period.. I would rather have Bush back before having her.. for our first Female President.

Hate March or the right to assemble

This past Saturday, while eastern NC was preparing for hurricane Irene, in the West they were having a Pride Festival.. Yes while some in NC was holding down the fort, others where a street party, wow..

Charlotte pride is held every year, and every year they are invaded by a bunch of bible carrying citizens.

This year was no different for past gatherings. However this Year the number of religious protesters whom show up to protest the event were larger then before.

They come to preach the word of God, and some just right out hatred for others. To group them all in one category is wrong..

So this year it was the color red everywhere that marked these folks.. They were lead by Michael Brown. Many of his group hurled insults and condemnation at the attendees of the Pride event, while others of his group had peaceful discussion with a few of the attendees.

They invade our events, call us names, while most of us just go on about our business, never giving them any thought, unless we see a very hot Hottie, then a few us will chat with them.. However we very seldom invade theirs; while they show up at almost every event that we have..

The Question is why do we constantly call them bigots and so on.. They are practicing their rights under the very same law as we do. Joe of Joemygod.com named his piece “more on the Charlotte Hate march.”

Brown-rally

The other thing I don’t understand about mine/our community is why we get so bent out of shape when they show up to ours, we know that they are going to come to them. Yet, we don’t go to theirs to voice our voices, why?

The only recently fundie event that I can think of that our community members showed up for was this May in Raleigh. When a couple of group got together for a Protect Marriage Rally in Raleigh..DSC_0105

Yes they had their rally, however a few community members did show up.

DSC_0198

This group stood very quietly, beside/behind the stage. However they were ask to leave, which they didn’t. Well, not right away anyway.

The fundie don’t like when we show up, they claim it was private event on public property each time.. Yet we don’t force them to leave when they show up at our rallies.

In June our Community had our marriage rally.. Yes; and they showed up..DSC_0730

This shot was taken after we allowed them to stay, the only requested that they couldn’t used the blow horn anymore.. yes they weren’t very happy, since they could preach loudly. They just stood off to the side for 45 minutes..

I have to wonder why are upcoming rally will hold for us..

The best comment concerning Paul Stam Presser today in NCGA.

Stam is a fundamentalist fanatic. He is a Christianist Nazi who has been trying to make his brand of crazy Evangelical Bible thumping the law of North Carolina all his life. The man is a political horror story! Hate monger par excellance.

Perdue has bigger issues than SSM amendment to worry about.- You go Girl..

@ncgovoffice says lawmakers should be focused on hurricane recovery/jobs, not gay marriage amendment: http://ow.ly/6h6FW #ncga #ncpol

At a news conference earlier today (link), Republican Reps. Paul "Skip" Stam and Dale Folwell suggested that their proposed constitutional amendment against gay marriage would pass handily if Gov. Bev Perdue, a Democrat, didn't interfere.

Perdue said Tuesday afternoon she hasn't been working on the issue.

“I haven’t made any calls against that I know of against that... . The point is that for the last five days we’ve focused on nothing but hurricanes and I find it hard to believe you’ve got legislative leaders who are focused on gay marriage when we’ve got people who are totally devastated, lost their homes," Perdue said. "It looks to me like they’d focus on what’s important to North Carolina: hurricane fist and then jobs. That’s what they’re supposed to be doing, not working on social issues that just divide the state.”

Pressed for her position on the issue, Perdue had nothing good to say about it.

“I have heard discussed in the presence of Speaker Tillis and other that this may be bad for business, I don’t intend to do anything that’s bad for business. But right now, let me be very direct with y’all, I don’t care what they talk about. I’m talking about hurricane recovery and getting these people back together and jobs. And they ought to be talking about the same thing," Perdue said.

Perdue is right recovery after Irene is more important then this stupid bigot amendment..

Guess who was in Charlotte this past weekend??

Statement of Minority Leader Joe Hackney on proposed Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage

Joe tells it like it is… Hey NCGOP< where are the jobs.. you guys been talking about.. Well

At a time when we should be focused on helping our neighbors in the east recover from a terrible storm, we are instead returning to Raleigh to vote on a constitutional amendment that simply mirrors existing law in North Carolina. What a waste. This proposed constitutional amendment runs against the tide of history, and has become a form of hate speech. Modern corporations do not tolerate this kind of discrimination and neither should our state. But many of us recognize this unneeded amendment is not about rights or morality. It is part of the Republican political strategy to drive Republicans to the polls in 2012 while suppressing Democratic voting through voter ID legislation and cutbacks in early voting.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 30, 2011

Raleigh – A Marriage Amendment will be considered during the legislative session starting September 12th.

Amendment Stronger than Statute

A constitutional amendment is needed for several reasons. The most important reason is because voters have been demanding the right to vote on such a major issue since at least 2003. It was the first year an amendment was introduced, sponsored by Democratic leaders (see other handouts). Secondly, the state’s current statutes are insufficient in the current legal environment. The definition of marriage is the foundation to society. It should not be left to one activist judge to write its definition. Thirdly, it’s a legislator’s responsibility to put such an important decision in the voters’ hands.

“Whether you’re Democratic or Republican, why wouldn’t you want to do everything possible to represent the people of your district,” Speaker Pro Tem Dale Folwell, R-Forsyth said. “This amendment pushes power away from Raleigh and to the people of North Carolina.”

“In 1994 the General Assembly reformed the policy that defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman,” House Majority Leader Paul Stam, R-Wake, said. “Legal developments from other states require that this policy be in the Constitution in order to be fully effective.”

Bottom Line

It’s the legislature’s responsibility to offer long-term solutions to the issues facing North Carolina. The only long-term solution to the marriage issue is to put the question to the voters. They have been demanding the opportunity to vote on an amendment for almost 10 years. It’s time they get it.

Love this from Tillis Clayton townhall

During the town hall a group of protesters gathered outside to remind the Speaker that the average people of North Carolina have not forgotten this disaster of a legislative session.

Today’s presser at NCGA concerning Same Sex Marriage.

From BlueNC,

Usernamehere, ask the most important question of all,

With the state still recovering from Irene, a string of severe storms last night, and massive unemployment, these two NC GOP leaders decide it would be a great time to hold a press conference on ... gay marriage.

Say what? Yes, two GOP leaders of the NC House really thought it was necessary to talk about gay marriage today.

The Defense of Marriage amendment is expected to be the most controversial topic lawmakers take up when they return Sept. 12 to Raleigh

So why did they chose today?

Then there is this,

Folwell said they'd scheduled the presser last week when Tillis was around, but hurricane duties delayed it

So when was the Presser set for?

So I guess these three planned to do this Presser together, on Monday..

After watching it, I felt ill, however Stam brought up pedophilia, incest and polygamy, which has been used over and over, it like they are reading from a prewritten script from the fundies… He also claim that the kids of the future have to be protected..

Folwell kept pushing the idea of letting the people to vote on it and settle it once and for all. However if this is the case, then let the people vote on Divorce, if it should be allow or not. if they are so concern and really want to protect marriage as they claim..

Most North Carolinians are more concern at the moment rebuilding from the recent hurricane.

The only folks pushing for this amendment is religious bigots who wants to control other people lives..

Stam is just a dumbass, I guess in his mind you are who are no matter what. So I guess he is the same person he was back in 1996..

Guess What Stam, people change over time, opinion changes.. Get your bigot head out of the past and get current…

Help Defeat Anti-LGBT Amendment

Get on the phone to help defeat the “anti-LGBT amendment”

On September 12 the North Carolina legislature will hear amendments for the general election ballot of 2012. One of these amendments is House Bill 777/Senate Bill 106, otherwise known as the “anti-LGBT amendment.” This ridiculous amendment would ban same-sex marriage, prohibit civil unions and nullify domestic partnership benefits.

Equality North Carolina needs your help to make sure this amendment doesn’t get onto the ballot.

All you have to do is sign up for a shift to make phone calls. (Don’t be scared, it’s easy!) You can even do it right from your own house — all you need is a phone and a computer.

Dale Folwell and Paul Stam to hold Marriage Amendment Presser at Noon in the NCGA Press Room

paul stamDale R. Folwell

Prelude to today's newser: Rep. Folwell had a guest column in the Winston Salem Journal re: marriage amendment: http://ow.ly/6gvwY

For some, defining marriage has become a deeply emotional issue, and the fairest way to mediate such a controversial public policy issue is to trust the people and let them have the freedom to decide.

If this is the case when do we (the People) get to vote to outlaw divorce?

This Amendment is not needed, it also not worth the time and money right now. We need jobs creation, Where are the jobs that the (gop) promise when they were elected into office..

Eric Cantor memo on Jobs and other items

MEMORANDUM
TO: House Republicans
FR: Eric Cantor
DT: Monday, August 29, 2011
RE: Upcoming Jobs Agenda

As you know, we released The House Republican Plan for America’s Job Creators earlier this year. While the debt crisis has demanded much of our attention, our new majority has passed over a dozen pro-growth measures to address the equally troubling jobs crisis, such as the Energy Tax Prevention Act and the Putting the Gulf of Mexico Back to Work Act. Aside from repeal of the 1099 reporting requirement in ObamaCare, however, each House Republican jobs bill now sits dormant in the Democrat-controlled Senate. You can view the progress of our jobs bills at MajorityLeader.gov/JobsTracker.

When we return next week, the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction will begin meeting to take an additional incremental step towards addressing our debt crisis. During this time, it is essential that the House continue our focus on the jobs crisis. Below are two areas of our jobs agenda that I want to bring to your attention for our upcoming fall and winter legislative schedule.

REPEAL OF JOB-DESTROYING REGULATIONS TO CREATE MIDDLE CLASS JOBS

Since passage of H.Res. 72 on February 11, our committee chairmen have been investigating and inventorying regulatory burdens to job creators. They’ve found many that have tied the hands of small business people and prevented job growth. By pursuing a steady repeal of job-destroying regulations, we can help lift the cloud of uncertainty hanging over small and large employers alike, empowering them to hire more workers.

Our regulatory relief agenda will include repeal of specific regulations, as well as fundamental and structural reform of the rule-making system through legislation like the REINS Act, the Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act, and reform of the Administrative Procedures Act (all three bills are expected on the floor in late November and early December).

The following is a list of the 10 most harmful job-destroying regulations that our committee chairmen have identified, as well as a selective calendar for their repeal. These regulations are reflective of the types of costly bureaucratic handcuffs that Washington has imposed upon business people who want to create jobs.

Wacked Out Catholics, Now believe That Galileo is Wrong, Earth is at the Center of Solar System..

From the Chicago Tribune.

Welcome back the stone age, where everyone is just plain out stupid..

These mental ill Catholics claiming Galileo is wrong about Heliocentrism.

Those promoting geocentrism argue that heliocentrism, or the centuries-old consensus among scientists that Earth revolves around the sun, is a conspiracy to squelch the church's influence. "Heliocentrism becomes dangerous if it is being propped up as the true system when, in fact, it is a false system," said Robert Sungenis, leader of a budding movement to get scientists to reconsider. "False information leads to false ideas, and false ideas lead to illicit and immoral actions — thus the state of the world today.… Prior to Galileo, the church was in full command of the world, and governments and academia were subservient to her." There is proof in Scripture that Earth is the center of the universe, Sungenis said. Among many verses, he cites Joshua 10:12-14 as definitive proof: "And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, while the nation took vengeance on its foe.… The sun halted in the middle of the sky; not for a whole day did it resume its swift course."

here is photographic proof of our solar system..

Trouble at Charlotte Pride

From JoemyGod.com and CharlotteObserver.com

flipbenham2One of many Christianists who spent the weekend hurling Religious/hate speech at the attendees of Charlotte Pride . Another of God's Gentle People was arrested for violating the city's noise ordinance

Benham was apparently the only one arrested.

His arrest was the latest in a string of run-ins with the law for the Concord-based preacher. But he says he's a victim of a city policy that chips away at his First Amendment rights by limiting how loud protesters can get.

"It's the way the city controls us," Benham said. "It controls the message that we speak. The city can control the content of a message if they can control the volume."

Benham also claims,

In fact, he said, his group is already making plans to protest at the Democratic National Convention next year.

"The city of Charlotte really wants me to shut up before the Democratic National Convention gets here," he said. "We're not worried about that. This is our city, and we have a responsibility to her."

WORKERS BEAR WITNESS TO INJUSTICE AT THOM TILLIS TOWN HALL

AFL-CIO and allies will demonstrate outside McCall’s in Clayton at 11:30am Tuesday, August 30

Clayton, N.C. – Before North Carolina voters get the chance to hold politicians accountable in the next election, concerned citizens in the Triangle will have one last opportunity to take Thom Tillis to task for his disastrous speakership of the State House at a legislative town hall here on Tuesday, August 30.  Advocates for workers and others will be there to bear witness to Thom Tillis’ divisive, ideologically driven legislative agenda – an agenda that has exacted one sacrifice after another from working folks while rewarding his staff with 27 percent pay increases and his corporate campaign contributors with new tax loopholes and exemptions from environmental law.  In fact, Thom Tillis recently took home top honors at a meeting of the corporate-funded American Legislative Exchange Council for his efforts to pass laws written by corporate lobbyists.

Earlier this year, over 37,000 jobless workers went months without unemployment benefits because Thom Tillis hijacked federal funds for political gamesmanship with the Governor.  Thanks to Thom Tillis’ austerity budget, thousands more state and local workers are joining the unemployment line.  Tillis has yet to find time on his legislative calendar even to consider a jobs bill, opting instead to fight partisan battles over women’s health care, Voter ID, and anti-gay constitutional amendments.

What: Protest outside Thom Tillis town hall

When: Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 11:30 am

Where: McCall’s BBQ, 10365 US 70 Business Hwy W, Clayton, NC 27520

Why: Speaker Thom Tillis needs to know his legislative assault on workers, women, public education, democracy, and the environment is not going unnoticed

Who: NC State AFL-CIO and progressive allies

Michele PR starts Clean up about the Hurricane Comment

Michele Bachmann was just kidding. God didn't send Hurricane Irene as a a wake up call for America, after all.

No she wasn’t, she just didn’t expect such a backlash over it..

alice staward"Of course she was saying it in jest," Alice Stewart, spokeswoman for Bachmann's campaign, told Reuters.

You go girl, earn that money.. However Michele really put her foot in her mouth this time..

Irene killed at least 21 people and cut power to 5 million homes and businesses along its path up the eastern seaboard from North Carolina.

I bet if there was no deaths from this hurricane, Ms Stewart wouldn’t have to spin control on Michele’s comments about the hurricane and east coast earthquake..

Douchebag of the Day Eric Cantor

I can’t believe my home state could turn out or elect a self serving asshole like Eric Cantor..
220px-Eric_Cantor,_official_portrait,_112th_Congress
(Official portrait of Congressman Eric Cantor.)
Despite the devastation caused by Hurricane Irene this weekend, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) today stood by his call that no more money be allocated for disaster relief unless it is offset by spending cuts elsewhere. The Washington Post reported this morning that FEMA will need more money than it currently has to deal with the storm’s aftermath and is already diverting funds from other recent disasters to deal with the hurricane, but Cantor’s comments suggest Republicans won’t authorize more funds without a fight.
Why didn’t you take a stand like this when dumb ass Bush was in office, during Katrina?? Well…

Sorry, folks in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th districts which include Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and all of the Eastern Shore are all Republican districts. All are in the path or within tropical storm strength winds. Areas of Virginia Beach are under mandatory evacuations. If you need FEMA help you just might not be able too..

Cantor was around long enough to have approved a lot of that runaway money spending. Most of Congress has been around long enough, but pretend they were not. So they can blame the First African-American President.

After Katrina, under Bush, GOP Congress approved $81.5 billion in relief funds without any spending cuts thkpr.gs/nnvs3K

“We've had an earthquake; we've had a hurricane,” Bachmann said. “He said, 'Are you going to start listening to me here?' Listen to the American people because the American people are roaring right now. They know government is on a morbid obesity diet and we've got to rein in the spending."

Maddow Rips Rick Scott, the Gov. of FL

When FL Gov. Rick "Medicare Fraud" Scott mandated that all welfare applicants pass a drug test before receiving benefits? It turns out that so few applicants are failing the test, the entire program will cost much more than it saves. That's no concern for Scott's wife, who has a financial interest in one of the companies doing the testing.

The ACLU of FL had this to say

"We're not testing the population at-large that receives government money; we're not testing people on scholarships, or state contractors. So why these people? It's obvious--because they're poor."

"this is just punishing people for being poor."

Barbarian FlashMob at Bachmann's Husband Clinic..

“The American people have a right to know: does the Bachmann family profit from bogus “gay reparative therapy” or not,” continued Espinosa. “The medical evidence against the practice aside, the Bachmann’s subversive marginalization of the LGBT community is despicable.”
Today’s action was organized by the same young man who previously glittered Newt Gingrich, inspiring a national trend in political protest of anti-LGBT sentiments from political candidates and campaigns.
“It’s clear that the Bachmanns are the real barbarians here, and their archaic views on LGBT equality will no longer be tolerated.”

HRC President Joe Solmonese to Depart Early 2012

Board Announces Search Process, Salutes Leadership

WASHINGTON - The co-chairs of the Human Rights Campaign Board of Directors and the HRC Foundation Board today announced that HRC President Joe Solmonese has informed the boards that he will not renew his contract which expires March 31, 2012. Solmonese will remain at the helm of the organization until the completion of his contract to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

At the same time, the co-chairs announced the formation of a search committee to be co-chaired by board members Joni Madison of Hillsborough, N.C., and Dana Perlman of Los Angeles.

"Joe Solmonese is an outstanding leader," said Anne Fay who co-chairs the Foundation Board of Directors with Andy Linsky. "While we will miss his extraordinary leadership, we enter this next phase, thanks to Joe, in the best place the organization has ever been. Not only has our community secured historic victories, but our membership is larger and more active than at any time in our history, and our financial health is secure even in these difficult economic times."
"From the repeal of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell', to the recent passage of marriage equality in New York, Joe has made sure that HRC is an effective and strategic force for positive change," said Tim Downing, who co-chairs the HRC Board of Directors with Rebecca Tillet. "Over the course of his tenure, he's set the tone for delivering real reform that matters in peoples' everyday lives."

"Leading HRC has been an inspiring experience and a complete privilege," said Solmonese. "I could not be more proud of our staff, our volunteer leadership and of the extraordinary progress we've made together as a community."

Solmonese's leadership has taken the organization from 750,000 members and supporters to more than 1,000,000. Additionally, he oversaw significant expansion of HRC's public education and outreach programs including the launch of the Healthcare Equality index, a more robust Religion and Faith Program and wider reach and success of the Corporate Equality Index. The HRC Foundation also launched the Welcoming Schools program to address family diversity, gender stereotyping, bullying and name calling in schools, as well as the All Children All Families initiative that helps open up adoption agencies to prospective LGBT parents.  The grassroots field operation also expanded - most recently mounting the largest state-level campaign in LGBT movement history resulting in the passage of marriage equality in New York.

When Solmonese began at HRC in 2005, the organization was fighting the Federal Marriage Amendment and now marriage equality is a reality in six states and the District of Columbia with more within sight. Under Solmonese's leadership we saw the passage of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, the repeal of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' and numerous administrative changes from gender identity non-discrimination policies for federal workers to reversing the HIV travel ban to ensuring that equal visitation in federally funded hospitals. Read more on the community's record of success during Solmonese's tenure.
"HRC has never been stronger and after nearly seven years, this is the right moment for me to move on," said Solmonese. "As I explore new professional possibilities, I plan on continuing to pour my heart and soul into improving the lives of members of our community - from battling proposed marriage amendments to creating more equitable workplaces to ensuring the President Obama is reelected for a second term."

The four volunteer board co-chairs will work with the search committee co-chairs in selecting the full committee as well as securing an executive search firm to assist the organization.
"From the beginning, we asked Joe to give us six months of transition when he decided to leave and he's done that," said Tillet. "We have every confidence that we will find and engage a new leader within that timeframe."

The Human Rights Campaign is America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.

Preacher Manipulates Kids into Donating Money

Child exploitation and indoctrination at its finest hour.Yet we "homosecuals" are the dangerous ones

Robertson jump on the wagon about God sent the Earthquake as Judgment on us.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t want to get weird on this so please take it for what it’s worth. But it seems to me the Washington Monument is a symbol of America’s power, it has been the symbol of our great nation, we look at that monument and say this is one nation under God. Now there’s a crack in it, there’s a crack in it and it’s closed up. Is that a sign from the Lord? Is that something that has significance or is it just result of an earthquake? You judge, but I just want to bring that to your attention. It seems to me symbolic. When Jesus was crucified and when he died the curtain in the Temple was rent from top to bottom and there was a tear and it was extremely symbolic, is this symbolic? You judge." - Pat Robertson.

NOM will never give up their Donors..

Via Queerty.com

The so-called National Organization for Marriage has unsuccessfully challenged campaign finance disclosure laws in Maine, Minnesota, New York, California, Rhode Island, and Iowa. And in every case they still have not disclosed so much as a single name. Why? Because the court rulings don’t really matter since they offer no criminal penalty for non-compliance as of yet.

If and when NOM decides or is force to give up these lists. I bet anything the names and companies on their list will shock us.. I have to wonder just who these folks are too.

What would happen if we found out that many NOM donors are also LGBT donors?? Allies, and LGBT friendly companies… By giving to both sides they are protecting here bottom line…

1) Marcellus Andrews’ Death will not be investigated as a Hate Crime.

Officials from One Iowa and Iowa Safe Schools denounced the homicide Tuesday as an apparent hate crime. The groups advocate acceptance for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender individuals and work against bullying and hate speech.
“The hurtful rhetoric used was the language of hate,” said Troy Price, executive director of One Iowa. “That kind of derogatory language does not have a place in our state.”
However, authorities don't believe the killing was a hate crime, said Lt. Michael McNamee, Waterloo police spokesman.
“We've done multiple interviews and we have heard those allegations, but this was not because of his persuasion or the perception of his persuasion,” McNamee said. “These were all people who knew each other, and there was some bad blood between the two parties involved.”

2) Focus on the Family Claims if Prop * trial is Televised Christians will be Murdered..

Many pastors and other Prop. 8 supporters found themselves targeted by radical homosexuals during the campaign and afterward, prompting many to hire personal security guards in the wake of credible death threats. “Just because the trial’s over doesn’t mean that threat isn’t still there,” said CitizenLink Judicial Issues Analyst Bruce Hausknecht. “Judge Walker himself promised the parties to the lawsuit that only he, Walker, would ever look at the video, and only during his deliberations. That’s obviously being violated just by the request. “Why is this judge even considering this request, given that both the trial judge and the Supreme Court have already spoken?”

3) MN Tea Party Congressman Chip Cravaak was so busy bashing “Big Government and Unions, that he wasn’t to busy to cash his disability checks from his Union Job, or received his free medical care, as a military Veteran..

4) When Obama announced the stimulus package, to get the economy moving, Bachmann was vociferously vocal about it, criticizing Obama, saying it wouldn't work, calling it gay and, therefore, of Satan, you know, her usual rhetoric.

The serial liar Michele Bachmann not only repeatedly sought stimulus funds from federal agencies, but justified her rabid requests by claiming that the funds would create jobs and strengthen the economy.

And yet, publicly Bachmann denounced the stimulus as an act of "overspending" and "fantasy economics" that hurt jobs.

Of course, when asked by her usual two-faced approach, Bachmann replied; "I voted against the stimulus and I was very public against the stimulus. After the stimulus was passed and the money was there, why should my constituents or anyone else be disadvantaged?"

5) Tony Perkins: Help! I'm Being Oppressed!

"They will not be satisfied until those who hold to a traditional, natural view of marriage are completely silenced. They are so intent on accomplishing this that anyone and everyone who would challenge them must be silenced. And we are seeing this in the media, and now we’re seeing this into the marketplace. It’s an effort to stigmatize, to marginalize and ultimately to cause people to self-censor. I don’t think you can look at homosexuality and what is taking place without examining the spiritual dynamics here. This is essentially man shaking his fist in the face of God and saying I don’t need you, that we will do it our way. It is the height of humanism."

6) Steve Jobs resigned today as CEO of Apple, spawning rumors that his health was once again declining. The company's board of directors announced that COO Tim Cook (left) will take the position. You may recall that Cook was outed in January by the gossip site Gawker.

NC NAACP and Local Branches Challenge Guilford County Redistricting Plan

For Immediate Release

August 24, 2011

For More Information:         Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, President, 919-394-8137

NC NAACP and Local Branches Challenge Guilford County Redistricting Plan

The ultra-conservative Republican led majority of the General Assembly once again exercised their new found power by quickly and deviously pushing through a bill that removes power from the people and flies in the face of local desires. On July 28,2011, the General Assembly ratified Senate Bill 719, dictating the voting districts in Guilford County. This was part of an omnibus local election bill that became law without the signature of the Governor. "This bill altered the makeup of the Guilford County Board of Commissioners by reducing the size of the board and redrew district lines that will impact Guilford County for the next ten years and beyond. The NC NAACP joins our local branches in opposing this bill based on the process in which it was developed and asks the United States Department of Justice to object to the submitted plan," stated Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, National NAACP Board Member and NC NAACP State Conference President. "Not only has the ultra-conservative led majority perverted the redistricting process at the congressional and state levels, but they have also overreached at the local level in ways that racially and politically stack and pack, resulting in diminished influence of the African-American and minority vote."

The General Assembly tasked the Guilford County Commissioners with the job of drawing new district lines. Before the Commissioners could complete the plan, the conservative majority pushed through another law removing local input in the process and creating districts with severe partisan advantage. These new districts pack African-Americans into three districts, limiting minority influence in other districts. It also bunks White and Black incumbents together creating the possibility that there will be no Black representation in High Point.

Guilford County is covered under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and therefore this change must be precleared with the United States Department of Justice (US DOJ). "Greensboro is well known as a catalyst in the civil rights movement of the 1960s but some do not realize today we continue to experience high racial tensions and polarized voting," stated Rev. Cardes Brown, Greensboro NAACP President. He continued, "What has been proposed in this redistricting process bypassed any input from the citizens of our community despite the fact that this is a county covered under Section 5 of the VRA. We are both offended and disturbed by this political attempt to roll back our voting rights and undermine African-American voting power."

"While I'm an elected official, my life's work has been dedicated to fighting for justice, civil rights and voting rights. It is clear that the plans being put forth not only bypass the wishes of the County Commissioners but more fundamentally attempts to remove Black influence in a way that undermines the ability to elect not only African-Americans but any officials of their own choosing," stated Ms. Carolyn Coleman, National NAACP Board Member and NC NAACP 1st Vice President.

We believe that House Bill 719 was enacted with discriminatory intent and will be retrogressive for minority voters. The reduction in representation, coupled with the non-participatory process by which this change in election method occurred, warrants an objection. We call on the US DOJ to reject the submitted plan as the jurisdiction has failed to show that the plan will not be retrogressive to African-American voters.

Joseph Farah, what a Douche bag,, Blames the Gays for the Earthquake and the for coming Hurricane..

"If America doesn't face judgment soon, God will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. And God doesn't offer apologies. He does, however, offer second chances, third chances, fourth chances. He's trying to get your attention. Are you paying heed? What will it take? Will your world have to be turned upside down before you recognize what's happening? Would even that be enough? I know. I know. It was just a little earthquake – and just another hurricane. They happen all the time. What are you making such a big deal about, Farah? You're right. We escaped this time. No big deal. But when your world is shaking, you tend to think about the things that really matter. And what really matters is our relationship with our heavenly Father, our Creator, the Lord of the universe. He is trying to tell us something. His message is very clear. Don't say you weren't warned." - Joseph Farah, founder of World Net Daily.

Well it didn’t take too long, for the Religious Right to blame the Gays for Yesterday’s Earthquake…

That didn't take long! New York City's Rabbi Yehuda Levin, says that yesterday's earthquake expressed God's great disgust with gay activism. "One of the reasons that God brings earthquakes to the world is because of the transgression of homosexuality. The Talmud states, 'You have shaken your male member in a place where it doesn't belong. I too, will shake the earth.'"

I never knew that Gays and Lesbians had such powers to move the earth under our feets.. Wow. Don't piss them off, who know what would happen.

Frederica Wilson Speaks about these crazy ass tea-baggers (the racist party)

Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL), a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, blasted the tea party movement on Monday night at a jobs fair in Miami.

“Let us all remember who the real enemy is,” she said. “The real enemy is the Tea Party. The Tea Party holds the Congress hostage. They have one goal in mind, and that’s to make President Obama a one-term president.”

You go girl.. you tell them…

Another Elected official afraid of the Camera..

What the hell is going on at these town halls, no cameras, some you have to paid to speak, What's next striper poles. Cops being call in.. May these elected officials just need to stay in DC..

Fearing pushback on issues like ending Medicare and corporate tax dodging, Chabot took an extraordinary step in order to prevent a possible “YouTube moment”: he banned constituents from filming the town hall. Outside the town hall were multiple signs reading, “For Security Purposes, Cameras Are NOT Permitted.” In fact, on at least two separate occasions, middle-aged constituents who tried to record the public event had their cameras confiscated and were asked to leave. Watch it:

Media were permitted to record the event, making the ban on citizen cameras all the more baffling. Clearly no “security” threat existed; rather, as one of Chabot’s staffers told ThinkProgress, they wanted to “prevent” people from “making a show” of the event. Indeed, Chabot and his staff were worried enough about citizens voicing their anger at his policies that they only accepted pre-screened questions chosen by the congressman’s staff.

We have been asked why the NC Tea Party has not commented on Maxine Water’s comment that the “Tea Party Can go To Hell”. North Carolina NAACP Delegation Travels to Georgia

to Fight for Justice for John McNeil

The North Carolina and Georgia State Conferences of the NAACP, joined by the national NAACP, will hold a rally and press conference on August 24 to address the Georgia Supreme Court's wrongful conviction of John McNeil. McNeil was sentenced to life in prison in 2006 after defending his teenage son, himself, and his home from Brian Epp, a white trespasser.

A rally and press conference will be held at 11:00 am, August 24 in front of the Old Cobb County Courthouse Building located at 30 Waddell Street in Marietta, Georgia to call for a review of McNeil's sentence.Speakers will include National NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous, Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, II and Mr. Ed Debose, the presidents of the North Carolina and Georgia NAACP State Conferences respectively, and Mrs. Anita McNeil - wife of John McNeil.

Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears, in a powerful dissent to the Supreme Court's decision to imprison Mr. McNeil for life, concluded that "no rational trier of fact could have found the absence of self-defense beyond a reasonable doubt."   Justice Sears' conclusion relied upon evidentiary facts, including:

Eight bucks for a glass of Tap water in NY: WTF..

Where's the real stuff?

Central Park Boathouse workers want to let New Yorkers in on a little secret. According to the restaurant's striking employees, the famed eatery has been serving filtered tap water disguised as bottled H2O for a whopping $8 for years, and the embattled workers have been forced to deceive customers. But this past weekend, workers turned the tables on operator Dean Poll.

Damn these folks in New York are suckers.. Please there is nothing wrong with tap water. Remember if you won’t drink it, then why that a bath in it.. then again maybe there is something in the water..

8 buck for a glass, and I thought 20 bucks for the first 1000 gallons of city water was bad…

Lets hear for the best Whackadoodle story concerning 9/11

which one is the best, and if  these had these so-called vision of 9/11 happening, where their proof before 9/11, where are tape that proves they talk about this event before it happen..

Cantorquake: GOP we don’t need Gov’t

From the Emptywheel.. (inwhole)

Back in March, after the Japanese earthquake, Eric Cantor defended Republican plans to cut funding from the USGS and warning systems to help in case of a disaster.

What if we where to experience a disaster like Japan? How prepared are we in our country? Yesterday house republican leader Eric Cantor defended republican proposals to cut spending for the United States Geological Survey, the National Weather Service, and NOAA.

Government officials predict the closure of as many as 12 NOAA offices – which provide warning services for 30 million Americans. The national weather service budget would be cut by $126 million over the next six months with furloughs at 22 forecast offices. -and shorter work weeks for the storm prediction center and the national hurricane center shall be expected.

Any local LEPC or emergency coordinator will tell you that the inability for warnings to be disseminated to the public, whether due to staffing inadequacies, radar maintenance problems, or weather radio transmitter difficulties would be disastrous.

This is the epicenter of the freak 5.9 Richter earthquake that just hit Virginia.

[Cantor], the Republican whip in the House of Representatives, bought up to $15,000 in shares of ProShares Trust Ultrashort 20+ Year Treasury ETF last December, according to his 2009 financial disclosure statement. The exchange-traded fund takes a short position in long-dated government bonds. In effect, it is a bet against U.S. government bonds — and perhaps on inflation in the future.

Why are these people in office???

So what does our future hold with these cuts in these services???
