SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann got her Elvis Presley dates all shook up during a campaign stop Tuesday in South Carolina. The congresswoman from Minnesota played the Elvis tune "Promised Land" at a local restaurant and told the crowd of 300 that she wanted to say happy birthday to the king of rock `n' roll.
"Before we get started, let's all say happy birthday to Elvis Presley today!" Bachmann said.
But Aug. 16 is the anniversary of Elvis' death, in 1977, and someone in the crowd shouted back, "He died today!"
This women need better fact checkers for her pea size brain.. Better yet she need to get back in history classes asap..
However she does have a support of her mix ups…
oh.good.grief. When is the liberal lamestream media going to give this poor girl a break? This nitpicking and unfair treatment is getting ridiculous. You didn't see the same treatment when Obama mentioned 57 states. Or mispronounced "Corps." What hypocrisy! They all need to take a refresher course on Journalism 101. – by a registered Nurse, ENC……
I wonder if she was channeling Sarah Palin at the time, she never one who can’t get her history correct..
