House Speaker Thom Tillis, R-Mecklenburg, said the measure is about responding to complaints from constituents worried about illegal voting. Republicans made voter ID a part of their campaign platform last fall as they took control of both the House and Senate for the first time in 140 years.
Bull Shit, You guys (Republicans) didn’t like the fact that more African-American and Latinos, come out and voted during 2008, which help to get our first African-American in the Whitehouse.
That is what this bill was all about, a bunch of sorry old men losing to a younger African-American.. breaking the chain of race, in the Whitehouse.
Power to the people.. Also Every major problem this country has had since 1930’s can be trace back to a republican. There is really no different between the GOP and the KKK, except that KKK doesn’t hide be politics and LIEs.
Update:
The president of the Fayetteville chapter of the NAACP stepped up the political rhetoric Thursday when he accused the Republican-controlled state legislature of turning back the clock on civil rights.
"Since the new administration has taken office, their goal has been to take back every gain minorities have accomplished since the 1960s," Jimmy Buxton said in an interview before a news conference at the branch office.
But Buxton indicated that he believes blacks are being targeted by Republicans.
and wouldn’t you know it,
A spokesman for state House Speaker Thom Tillis, a Republican from Mecklenburg County, said he declined to comment on Buxton's remarks.
