House Speaker Thom Tillis, roundly criticized for granting $30,000-a-year employee raises, said he will cut his staff and lower his payroll costs.
In a meeting with News & Observer reporters and editors last week, Tillis said he intends to decide in a few weeks which employees will be leaving his office temporarily or permanently.
so why now, he claim volume of calls and emails to his office is down so he don’t need the extra help. But if he transfer the two staffer to other government job the move would only transfer the fund from one dept to another.
Doug Jackson, whom stared a online petition to tell Tillis to cut his staff might be one reason for this move.. he will wait and see what happens to the staff before forming an opinion..

So the Speaker lied a little. Cut him some slack. He's giving us rich folks tax breaks, and that's all that matters. Next year I hope he passes a law that lets me keep the riff-raff from walking on the beach in front of my weekend house at Emerald Isle.
I wonder if he is just being Cynical, or does he mean it…
