Via the Bilerico Project,
One professor on the UNCW campus - criminology professor Mike Adams - is leading the charge against the list, arguing that no public institution like UNC should be recommending to students where they should go to church.
"It's just amazing," Adams said. "It appears to me to be the height of not just silliness, but government waste. ... If I were to stand up and start recommending churches in the classroom, that would be a serious problem."
Yet these Churches can recommend how we are to be living, who we should like, vote for, and what public policies are to be made.
Adams' argument sounds like a simple case of commitment to uphold the separation of church and state. But then, when you take a look at the editorial he wrote in favor of dismantling the LGBTQIA Office's goal of providing LGBT students with safe spaces to go in Wilmington, it's clear that Adams' perspective is based in anti-LGBT sentiments.
and this,
Adams, who wrote about the church guide in an online column Monday, has previously called for the abolition of the LGBT group as well as several other identity-related groups on campus. He said the university guide probably has not crossed the legal line, but the university should stop distributing it anyway.
yet he only cares about if his 1st amendment rights are protected, what a douche bag>>>
A University of North Carolina–Wilmington professor’s speeches and columns are fully protected by the First Amendment, according to a published decision handed down Wednesday by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. Alliance Defense Fund attorneys contended that criminology professor Mike Adams was denied a promotion unconstitutionally because university officials were hostile to the religious and political views he espoused in his columns and speeches.
now he is doing the same, denying the right of free speech to the College’s LGBT groups..
