$20.12 to win 2012
2012 will be here before we know it. President Obama and Governor Perdue along with their liberal allies will stop at nothing to win back North Carolina to continue their tax-and-spend policies. In fact, North Carolina has become the number one target for Democrats as they decided to host the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.
We must gear up to fight back against the millions and millions of dollars coming from outside of North Carolina from labor unions, liberal activists like George Soros and the Democratic machine.
Now that the "long session" is over we are learning that the rhetoric from Governor Perdue and her Democrats allies were just that - rhetoric. School systems such as Wake County, Mecklenburg, Rocky Mount and others were able to save teachers jobs and start reforming our state's education system from the dismal rankings delivered by the Democrats over the last 140 years.
In addition, Republicans in the General Assembly held firm to their campaign promises and passed a fact-based budget that reduced the size of government and eliminated those “temporary” taxes that the Democrats love so much. In the end, the Republicans in the General Assembly exhibited the leadership North Carolina deserves, instead of kicking the tough decisions down the road as the Democrats did for so long.
Republicans in the General Assembly also passed a number of other key legislative priorities as we promised on the campaign trail:
- Eliminated the cap on Charter Schools
- Protected the right’s of homeowners against intruders (Castle Doctrine)
- Passed honest election reform (requires a person produce a photo id when voting)
- Passed the Health Care Freedom Act (freedom against federal health mandates)
- Kept our state a right-to-work state
- Reduced the regulatory burden on business
- Passed the Eminent Domain constitutional amendment
- Passed meaningful forced annexation reform
- Ended pay-to-play politics by limiting campaign contributions from state vendors
As you can see, we kept our promises to the citizens of North Carolina and we will continue to move North Carolina forward in the years to come, but we must retain and grow our majorities in 2012.
However, Obama, Perdue and all their liberal friends are steadfast in their commitment to undo all of the hard work we have done. That is why I am writing you today.
We need your help!
