Hi Willie,
Thanks for your feedback. You are right regarding your criticism of unnecessary conflict between Equality NC and GetEQUAL NC. I appreciate your point of view, and I know it is one shared by many. Ian and I had the opportunity to speak this week on the phone and I hope our organizations can begin to work together in support of one another for the greater good.
We are open to working with any and all organizations, despite disagreement regarding tactics, including Equality NC.
We have made a suggestion to hold open community meetings with Equality NC and other organizations in order to build a coalition of groups working with the community and to open a dialogue on how to work together towards the goal of equality. That invitation is open to Equality NC and all other organizations in North Carolina. We are brainstorming to come up with other ways to connect the dots between organizations and individuals across the state. I think a coalition of organizations working together would benefit everyone in the state.
Any and all suggestions are welcomed from you and from others. Constructive criticism is also welcomed. Being a small group of volunteer activists from a small organization we have a lot to learn, and we hope that folks like you who are plugged in to what is going on in North Carolina continue reaching out and offer feedback and suggestions. The video you sent is an important one.
Thank you for sharing it. We will share the video on our social media outlets. It is very relevant to what we are facing in North Carolina. Thank you again for your input and for everything you do. The more we all talk, coordinate, and support one another the better.
Angel Chandler
