NC making money from non-vehicle DUI’s

GRAHAM, N.C. -- An Alamance County man has been charged with drunken driving while riding a bicycle.

The Times-News of Burlington reported that 46-year-old Johnny Dwaine Lankford of Graham was charged after a police officer said he saw Lankford swaying on the bicycle earlier this week.

Police say an officer watched Lankford on the bike for about a half a mile before stopping him.

Lankford refused a breath-alcohol test.

Capt. Steve McGilvray says North Carolina law allows police to charge a person riding a bicycle or lawn mower in the road with DWI.

This is a complete scam, that state is acting on.. what's next DUI while walking???

I’m sure there was other things this officer could have been doing. I bet they target this guy.. just to meet their quotas for the month..
