With the General Assembly reconvening this week for a special session on redistricting, we anticipate that the anti-choice leadership will also attempt to override Gov. Bev Perdue’s veto of H.B. 854, the “Women Know Nothing” act. If Gov. Perdue’s veto is not upheld, this harmful legislation would become law, drastically altering women’s access to abortion in our state.
Send a message to your legislators today to protect reproductive freedom in North Carolina!
Anti-choice organizations are mobilizing their supporters, hoping to convince senators and representatives to vote for this dangerous bill. Legislators must continue to hear from pro-choice constituents like you. We need your help to ensure that they do the right thing and vote to uphold the governor’s veto.
You can also help by calling your legislators and leaving a message asking them to uphold Gov. Perdue’s veto of H.B. 854: Rep. Jean Farmer-Butterfield (919) 733-5898 and Sen. Clark Jenkins (919) 715-3040 .
Thank you in advance for your help to protect reproductive choice and freedom in North Carolina!
In solidarity,
Hillary Waugh Bruce
