Rally to be held at Halifax Mall Urgent: Help Override Perdue’s Vetoes at 11:00 am

Americans for Prosperity and Mayor Pat McCrory Team Up To Support Override of Governor Perdue’s Vetoes of The Energy Jobs Act, Medical Malpractice Reform and Regulatory Reform Act

Americans for Prosperity also urges activists to attend an event Wednesday at 11 A.M. at General Assembly

(Raleigh) Former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory will be urging voters to contact their members of the General Assembly this week as part of Americans for Prosperity’s effort to override Governor Perdue’s job killing vetoes of the Energy Jobs Act, Medical Malpractice Reform and the Regulatory Reform Act.

“Governor Perdue cast a series of highly political vetoes of bi-partisan legislation designed to create jobs in North Carolina. With hundreds of thousands of North Carolina citizens out of work, Perdue vetoed job creating bills like the energy jobs act, the regulatory reform act, and medical malpractice reform,” said Pat McCrory.

“All of these bills would help create jobs by lowering medical costs, removing job killing regulatory red tape, and encouraging home grown energy production. We can’t let Perdue veto our jobs and prosperity without a fight,” McCrory said.

Americans For Prosperity will also be holding an event outside the General Assembly this Wednesday, July 13th at 11 A.M. urging lawmakers to override Governor Perdue on these key issues. Activists are encouraged to attend and make their voices heard!

The State Senate is expected to take up veto override votes of the key job creating bills Wednesday afternoon.

“Governor Perdue is standing with liberal environmentalists and trial lawyers instead of the people of North Carolina who need jobs. Lower health care costs, less regulation and homegrown energy production are three
sure-fire ways to help increase employment but Perdue is standing in the way. The people of North Carolina must stand up and tell Perdue she can’t continue to kill our jobs,” said North Carolina State Director of Americans for Prosperity, Dallas Woodhouse.

“It is now clear that Perdue DOES NOT know how to create jobs but she sure knows how to destroy them,” said Woodhouse .
