The off-duty police officer arrested for allegedly shooting at a car containing two transgender women and three others was denied bond at a preliminary status hearing today in D.C. Superior Court.

As Romney makes his pitch, he's probably saying the right things, cleverly seeking an entry point in the movement's self-proclaimed broad-tentedness. What's up for debate, as some activists reject his entreaties out of hand, is whether or not Romney has the bona fides on that one, core issue.
Romney isn't doing as badly among tea partiers as one might expect.

All gay men are either being pedophiles or working to advance “the pedophile movement,” according to Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University law professor Judith Reisman, who falsely added that marriage is not a goal of any gay man or lesbian. Reisman was speaking to fellow Liberty University law professor and associate dean J. Matt Barber, who also falsely equated “the pedophile movement” with “the homosexual activist movement,” and falsely claimed that GLSEN, the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network, is working in active partnership with the National Education Association (NEA), to “indoctrinate children.”

Outgoing HRC President Joe Solmonese, who announced he would leave the Human Rights Campaign at the end of his contract next March, will have made $318,475 for the fiscal year, which ends also on his last day.
